Hawk Wargames Enlist the Grunts of Dropzone Commander
May 3, 2012 by brennon
So we've seen the massive drop ships of Dropzone Commander, but how about the ground troops, the grunts that do the gritty fighting? Well here are a few of them...
Looking pretty awesome I have to say. Some great detail on something so very small! They carry a very Sci-Fi feeling but also retaining that aspect of Modern Combat about them with the body armour. A great paint job too!
Has this swayed you to the United Colonies of Mankind?

why are their legs so short?
or torsos so big?
they don’t seem to be proportional.
EDIT: at least the guy second from the left, he’s the odd ball.
Interesting how these have some nice detail dispite being so small.
I think they would have sold tons more if the went with 15mm.
you can get quite a lot of detail on a 10mm figure most of my armies are 10mm for fantasy and historical. what I would really like to know is how much are we looking at for these models and are they going to be at any other shows this year?
Certainly, and they’re proving it with their work. It’s just that in the face of the 15mm sci-fi renaissance, they’ll have to fight for the market share (small-scale sci-fi) instead of being able to sell to people who play other 15mm games and just like the models.
Dorf on war?
The proportions are a little off but at this small scale it emphasises the parts that ‘matter’ on the models like the weaponry for gameplay (which look good here, a bit like the Halo assault rifle) and the heads for personality. They are clearly hand-sculpted so getting proportions right at this size could be tricky…I wonder why though? It could be that the vehicle designer who did the digital stuff like the tanks wasn’t as good at human anatomy so decided to get someone else to do the infantry and that sculptor works by hand. Seems like a way to… Read more »
Not a big fan of the infantry from what I have seen so far.

I’m all in for Post-Human Republic, and am looking forward to killin’ the UCM in droves this summer! 😀 😉
