Further to the news of the new Necron release due out on May 5th 2012, we have some new details on box contents and some Finecast Space Marines due out at the same time.
Here's the updated list:
- Triarch Stalker - Full Plastic Kit (1 per box)
- Tomb Blade - Full Plastic Kit (3 per box)
- Canoptek Wraith - Full Plastic Kit (3 per box)
- Canoptek Spyder - Full Plastic Kit (1 per box)
- Nemesor Zahndrekh - Finecast
- Vargard Obyron - Finecast

If you're a Vanilla Space Marine player, then you might be interested in the Finecast release of the Legion of the Damned models, plus a Finecast version of Chief Librarian Tigarius... although if you're not a Marine player... you probably don't care.
UPDATE: So Images have started to break on the forums here's the scoop on Warseer.
Loving the Stalker and the Spyders are awesome!

any news on DE voidraven bomber?
Or the Tomb Kings 2nd wave 🙁
What’re Tomb Kings waiting for? Haven’t they got everything from their lists?
We was ment to be getting a new bone giant and new plastic skeles to bring them up to date with the other range of skeletons. and iirc a couple of the names heroes.
You weren’t “meant” to get new plastic skeletons lmao.
But clearly a new plastic duel kit undead “giant” is being worked on, and will arrive at some point, probably Christmas.
GW are trying their best to move their entire range to plastic. If you have a plastic kit already, you won’t be getting a new one … until every army has moved to plastic.
Actually poosh we were, GW even said they was in the process of updating the TK skele’s since the current models are dated compared to the rest of the range.
So ‘lmao’ to you yoo.
GW say a lot of things, but I don’t recall them saying that. But given that it costs some £60,000 to made a plastic infantry box set I’m fairly sure they weren’t going to bother updating perfectly fine Plastic Tomb Kings – I’d bet anything they haven’t even broken even at the new Vampire Counts skeletons (as nice as they are). You weren’t “meant” to get new skeletons and it would be an undeserved treat. GW have been, for quite a while, attempting to move their entire range of fantasy models to plastic. Vampire Counts being the only exception with… Read more »
…it costs some £60,000 to made a plastic infantry box set…
Lol. What the hell are you smoking?
No need to be smoking anything, if anything 60K is conservative :
“From inception to production, creating a new scale model kit can take a full year and cost the manufacturer an investment of up to $US250,000. ”

The cutting of a die alone costs a fortune!
Why do you think GW is so keen on Finecast
First of all, the article you were so gracious to provide is from 2001 and is seriously out of date. Secondly, my father was a tool and die maker and did molds and stuff like this all the time. Thirdly, the process for Finecast isn’t a heck of a lot different from doing pewter miniatures. The reason they are so keen on Finecast is because the price of metal keeps going up. Do you see them dropping plastic kits in favor of Finecast? A finished sprue costs pennies to make. Granted, that doesn’t consider the costs of tooling and the… Read more »
The idea that it costs $10,000 (£6,000 roughly) tops is pure BS. That is about the CHEAPEST to make. Even Matt from miniwargaming said that $40,000 is not enough to start his own plastics, and a single mold, according to his research, cost between $20,000 to $50,000, that’s a single mold (as opposed to the standard 2 that GW put in a infantry kit). You’re plane out wrong. Why do you think Mantic keep reusing parts of the sprue etc? Because it costs so much. Why do you think Avatars of War have only produced 1 plastic kits so far?… Read more »
@Poosh You’re right. I lowballed it a bit. I got quotes between $15K and $40K. In any case, that’s far below the ridiculous prices that other people have quoted on here which was what I was disputing. $30K for a single kit is half of what you yourself quoted and that would be for 2 sprues. The way manufacturing processes work and the advancement with CAD and CNC machines, I won’t even look at an article that’s 5 years old. Your article was written in 2006.
Sounds a bit hit and miss to me, Glad to see the Triarch Stalker – I need one of those. The tomb blades, wraith and spyder arent going to be squads though, or is that a typo? well, as long as they are plastic I guess. I guess my troops will have to wait to get their Night Scythe too – ill just tell them to catch the f’ing bus instead, afterall it’s how I have to travel so why should my necrons get to have their own damn flyers?
I hope my sources haven’t failed me otherwise i’ll get beat up by everyone on Beasts War 🙁
not everyone on BoW … just those of us going to salute 😉
Hey, Beasts Wars was AWESOME!
(Maximals rule!)
;P
*Beasts of War
Hopefully some of those will be plastic kits instead of failcast. Of course independent characters will be most likely failcast but rest should be plastic.
I guess John Blanche was busy…
ooh szeras is coming eh? wonder how it’ll compare to my homemade szeras…
YES! i can complete my scarab farm list with spyders!!! 😀
pretty much confirms what previous rumours said, but to hear extra confirmation gets me extremely excited – i am lucky as its just been my birthday so gonna save plenty of that for this release!
Five months after, the new wave come… Dark Eldars were more fast for their second waves… Is that this is due to their very bad initiative that the Necrons have their second wave out so late?
tyranids should all be initiative one by this logic 😀
*Sigh! And this is the reason it is so hard for me to get into 40k. So many cool armies, so little time and money.
Oh great just what I need, more cool Necron killy things. !
No night/doom scythe?????
Most likely coming with the other flyer releases in the rumoure ‘autumn of flyers’ I guess.
so all we will be missing is the doom scythe/ night scythe orikan the diviner and anakyr the traveller
well the 2 named characters are rubbish anyway but I WANT MY DOOM SCYTHE
that drawing could easily be a fake
Can’t GW ever just do a release of updated models and such without having a theme for it? Because by there logic chaos mortals will forever be doomed with the chariot with the REAL OLD hunchback riders. I just don’t get it. In any case this will be a welcome release for Necron players.
BTW if the doom/night scythe is slotted for an all flyer month, what else could be released? IG vendetta upgrade kit, DE voidraven bomber and a bunch of new add on to all the other lists?
Havent they already updated them?
Maybe the guard or marines need updating, or possibly even the tau or eldar.
I sort of see what you mean, Necrons already had metal Wraiths and metal Spider, so technically didn’t need an update. However GW are constantly pushing plastic over metal when possible.
Fairly sure Tau and Eldar need updating more than IG and Marines though… then again I rarely seen anyone play a regular Marine army 🙁
nice love the new minis coming out (just not a fan of the prices) what happened to they painting contests you were hosting ? will they be continuing ?
Get ready to spend ALL the money!
…
except for the Scythes.
D:
For the Destroyer Lord, Will it be a Hybrid kit with finecast and Plastic? Like the old one was metal and plastic.
as long as it lets me convert a Destroyer Lord into something that DOESN’T include that stupid beetle ass, I’m sold~
Well this explains why it has taken my LGS more then 2 months to get my heavy destroyers in. I dont know If I like the idea of upgrade kits for things as minor as an extra weapon, it just feels like another way for GW to squeeze money out of you. Necjon it will probably be plastic since nothing about the kit would make it difficult to do so. I am excited about canoptek spiders thou, i can finally stop borrowing my buddies metal ones.
The question is, will these Necrons be released along normal pricing (in which case, buy buy buy before GW’s lovely annual price hike/kick in the teeth) / or will they be released along “anticipatory” pricing.
The only thing holding off on the Scythes will accomplish is annoying their fan base yet again…
I have lost all faith in GW – Instead Ill continue to send my $$ to Privateer Press…
Isnt they new edition of 40k coming out?
Anyway, i think new eldar could be cool.
Why necrons?
All they do is go around OP powered reviving themselves!!!
…
I’m assuming you’re not familar with the new Necron, then?
Are they *really* overpowered? They suck in combat, haven’t got the fluidity of other units, defo haven’t got the speed. None of their heavy support or weapon platforms are stupidly awesome. No uber troops, rapid fire weapons for the most part.
Looks like a political cartoon. I feel like the Necron guy should be wearing the label of some political party, and in front of him should be an Ork labeled with the name of some law people are bickering about or something.
