Thomarillion Have a Room in Need of Decorating
March 28, 2012 by dracs
Thomarillion have released a new diorama room for you to show off your minis and create elaborate scenes to astound and amaze.
Personally I think this room would be particularly suited to a scene from a Cthulhu game. With the dingy, yet ornate look Thomarillion have given it in these pictures you could imagine it being a room from a mansion of an elderly academic, driven mad from learning too much.
What are your thoughts on this? Do any of you make dioramas often?
The wall patterning looks Ancient Greek to me – I’d make this the lair of a gribbly mythological monster just like the stuff from Jason and the Argonauts. Warlord plastics for the valiant heroes and maybe a Banebeast for the foe…depends how big a monster you can fit in there really.
Oh and don’t forget the pile of gold! Or a hottie chained to a pillar…heroes need rewarding after all… 😉
That’s just wishful thinking lol
With the classical architecture it means it could be used for many settings.
A creepy museum for example or a neo classical town house in the posh end of London
You can still be chained to a pillar in the posh end of London. It’s just that the ‘chainee’ paid for it…try to find the parts for THAT diorama if you can… 😉
How do you know of these sorts of joints THC?
Don’t tell me your drinking pals are High Court judges and high ranking civil servants? 😛
This would be really good for showing off a Colette crew from Malifaux.
All bets are off.
You won’t top THC chained up wearing a rubber suit and a snooker ball shoved in his mouth.
Evil git, took me two full minutes to stop laughing! 🙂
You could do a diorama of the final moment of a Pompeii.
I like this and could see myself getting one-Looks dandy for anything from Ancient Greece, to Cthulhu, Dr Who, Pulp and almost anything in between.
A suitable fig for a female could be anything from the Colette Crew, but I’ve some Andrea Miniatures I’ve had kicking round for years and never got round to painting, so it’s an exscuse to put them to use…
