Warlord Lower Pikes and Ready Shotte
March 23, 2012 by dracs
Its almost here folks, Warlord have just announced that their upcoming rules for warfare in the 16th and 17th centuries, Pike and Shotte, is now up for pre-order!
This set of rules will allow you to field armies for such famous conflicts as the Tudor Wars and the English Civil Wars, as well as many others throughout the rest of Europe.
These rules will be making an appearance at this year's Salute, so those of you who are going be sure to keep an eye out for them.
With Pike and Shotte now going up for pre-order, Warlord have also started a number of starter army deals to allow you to build up your armies and get to waging war. Maybe I'll pick myself up some Parliamentarians, or Montrose Irish.
Are any of you interested in this historical period? Think you might pick up a copy of Pike and Shotte?

Those are rather nice.
Er…nice rules? They aren’t out yet. Nice models? There aren’t any pics in this post.
Nice what?
The pictures are nice and I am already considering getting the book and one of their army packs.
Ho hum
Nice…save.
😉
I have already put it on my list to check out at Salute, looks like it will be pretty full day. You should be able to adapt these rules to cover Warfare in Japan in the same period.
Knowing Blackpowder adapting it for Japan should be a piece of cake – or maybe a mixture of this and Ave Ceasar
And the figures been out of years in some cases
They certainly have. I have a few boxes plus some perrys, one of the many armies i started but never finished. Hope this rule book takes off, I may get to finish them.
I have to ask here before I go spending large quantities of money, how good are the Black powder and Ceasar rules really in comparison to say Warhammer historical? My local club plays Black powder rules when they do historical but I have never seen or tried a game yet. Only its one hell of an investment if you can’t get a game.
