Urban Mammoth Introduce the Neo-Iskandrians to Urban War
March 13, 2012 by brennon
The Urban War game is about to get a new faction in the shape of the Neo-Iskandrians. Check out the concept art for the battlesuited warriors below...
Liking the style of the armour. It is continuing that 'Romanised' look of the future in Urban Mammoth's game and I think it works in the post-apocalyptic setting. Will be fantastic to see renders and sculpts as things continue on the production of this side.
Liking these concept shots so far?

I like these a lot.
Paint them silver and you get retro Cylons.
Indeed. Those look like frakkin toasters to me.
A third Romanesque faction runs the danger of oversaturating the game’s style (a bit like Spess Mahreens) – I’d like to see more about how these guys differ to Junkers and Gladiators so as to make them worth immersing yourself in.
I don’t think these look as romanesque, as they do retro-futuristic. The underlying tech-level or styling ties them neatly into the background (with Junkers and Gladiators) and hopefully they’ll capitalize on the streamlined rocket-man design and art-deco imagery.
I certainly see them in silver and icy-blue hues.
It’s the blade on top of the helmet that throws me – it is a bit reminiscent of a centurion’s plume, but Junker stuff does seem to be more overtly and ornately Roman so it might be a needless worry.
The bladed ‘plume’ and the way the body armour is layered is very reminiscent of he armour worn by the Roman soldier. Also the ‘loincloth’ style armour around the midriff is very similar too. That’s not to say its bad of course lol.
