Musketeer Miniatures New SAGA Hearth Guard
March 3, 2012 by brennon
Another Hearth Guard today from the folks at Musketeer Miniatures for Gripping Beast's Dark Ages game SAGA.
This Hearth Guard will be equipped with either a dane axe or a spear across his shoulder, with a shield potential covering his lower body. I really am excited to play SAGA and the miniatures are certainly not helping my shiny syndrome.
Liking this Hearth Guard?
Very nice, I particularly like the scale armour.
SAGA is something I have slowly started looking into recently though I must admit I am a little put off by the lack of Scots and Irish at the moment.
Saxons, Normans, Welsh and Vikings don’t hold as much appeal to me as the Celts but I guess they didn’t want to overload the initial rulebook with too many factions so decided to only focus on the south east.
More factions are on the way, and you can also look at a few fan-made factions on their forums, as well as a few other fan-made things.

Some playmates for Jarl Sigvaldi. I already have 2 warbands and others half started. Looks I’ll be adding more to the painting list
@tigernexus The Scots are in the next supplement (Northern fury) along with Jomsviking, Bretons, and Anglo Saxons
Thanks for the extra information Ben and Huscarle.
All the more reason for me to take a better look at the rules and see if they are something for me.
Me thinks he’s trying to get the truck beside him to honk its horn. I could be wrong but it does look like it 😛
Thats rather nice.
Ohhh. Jomsvikings, cool, the hardest of the hard. Do they do welsh or cumbric?
Gripping Beast who produce the saga rules do welsh
