Fantasy Flight Dust off a Warhammer Fantasy Classic
March 2, 2012 by brennon
The Enemy Within is a classic tale from the olden days of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and now Fantasy Flight Games are working on a new version of the epic yarn.
The Enemy Within is no ordinary campaign. It spans a massive thirty sessions containing three great adventures. With roleplaying needing a serious boost this could be a great way to get your group stuck into a long running story.
The set contains everything you need to run this straight from the page, and if your a more adventurous GM you can add your own touch to it with plenty of extra ideas.
Will you take up the quest?

This was the reason I got into WHFrpg back in the day- be keen to hear what is the smae and what has changed for this new release
Great news, this was one of the greatest RPG campaigns of all time.
If only someone would re release Golden Heroes my life would be complete.
Since the Warhammer setting has changed from time of the original Enemy Within, I woundn’t be too surpriced if there are quite a lot of changes to the original plotline. They said in the unveiling article that they’d try to keep the mood and themes of the original, but the story is a new one. The first notable change is the change of Karl Franz to elector count Marius. What I really like, is that the campaing seems to be one set big set instead of many seperate suppliments. Since I never played the original Enemy Within (I do own… Read more »
WFRP Campaigns have always been incredibly well written. I still have the books from Paths of the Damned, the 2nd Edition starting campaign. Such a great romp into the Old World.

Yes, they have been. And I’m confident that this one will be too. If the current 3rd campaigns are anything to compare the new Enemy Within to, we’ll be in for a sweet ride. The problem what FFG will be facing is riding on the name of a cult classic. Since the new Enemy Within isn’t exactly a new printing of the old classic or even a remake for the the 3rd edition, more of a rehash, I’m pretty sure that the fanatical 1st and 2nd edition supporters have their days of glory on the internet boards as they have… Read more »
Being one of the more…balanced…fans of 1st and 2nd edition I fully accept 3rd editions right to exist however it is a game with a very different feel to it and that unfortunatly put me off. Of course the most galling and anger provoking thing, for me at least, was FFG choosing to port the old WFRP system fully across to be used in the 40k roleplay games, this showed that they have no actual dislike of the system. I can only guess that FFG simply didn’t want to reprint books made by other companies and thus decided against re-releasing… Read more »
