Get the Flash of Gunfire with Firepower Lights from Warlord
February 18, 2012 by brennon
If your looking to add a little action and flare to your battlefields then check out these Firepower Lights from Warlord Games.
Activated by twisting you can simply place these behind some basic cotton wool to give the effect of musket fire and the crack of guns. They even flicker to mimic the effect of repeated machine gun fire for you modern war gamers.
A great way of bringing the battlefield to life?

Pretty cool but sorta big and conspicuous, I’m not sure it gives more effect than it takes away given how much you need to hide to blend it in.
Well its probably more of a diorama addition than anything practical for your wargaming. Although saying that it could always be good as a marker of what units have fired on a shooting phase etc, adding a little more effect to the battlefield.

Very nice.
I would prefer Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic playing the 1812 Overture with lasers and firework effects.
but that’s just me.
Don’t mean a recording either, I’m talking live performance.
Could make a good damage marker for vehicles. I’d like to see one working though.
There is a youtube vid of someone making vehicle damage markers with battery operated christmas tee-lights (Pretend candles) and cotton wool well painted to simulate thick smoke
The effect was not too bad at all imho
I think this technique would work better for a burning building or knock out vehicle if the flashing is not too fast.
Although ammo baking off in a vehicle would flash a lot.
I have a number of those same lights shown above that are non-blinking with white light.
They are great for making street lights.
I just glued them to a plasticard post assembly.
I have a few of those small LED votive candles for burning buildings.
Just drop them inside and the inner walls and windows seem to flicker from fire.
They are the kind you get 3 for $6 dollars.
For burning buildings you might need something hotter than LED votive candles TG!
Not that I recommend nor condone arson of course, but a gallon of petrol and a box of Swan Vestas is probably going to work a lot better imho.
I’m happy just pretending to burn buildings down.
A lot less of a legal hassle and less running.
That does kinda makes you think. A few small yellow and orange LEDs connected to a 555 timers. Would still be a bit oversized but would work well
A great idea but a bit big at the moment…maybe a battery pack+ flying wire to tiny led would be better? Robust design but youll need serious smoke for your powder based firing line…which looks realistic i spose
