More Assembled Sturmtruppen from DreamForge!

Check out more of these shots of the Eisenkern Sturmtruppen from DreamForge Games. Below you have a normal squad followed by a command unit and heavy weapons to go with it. All are looking pretty fantastic...
I have to say I am loving the command squad, and especially the Platoon Commander. Great variation on the head and loving the armour all around. All these models are multi-part metal and 28mm scale.
You can check out a few more shots of the models here.
What's your favourite of all these Sturmtruppen?
So I can make my Jin-Roh warband after all. Splendid!
Jin-Roh warband? Thats awesome idea.
The seargent looks like putin.
Metal haters take note – when you shun a medium you miss out on all the lovely stuff you can find in it. Hopefully a resin version will happen, but I am entirely happy with the quality I see in these. The only problem is the expense involved because of using metal, but at least it’s just because of that and for a small army something of this level has to be worth it.
I’m seeing these guys as great additions to a Warpath Corporation side, use them as leaders for various squads.

I’m dull – I just see IG…boo-tee-ful IG…
Between these and the Corp I really don’t want Elysians right now.
Actually resin is more expensive. The time the model needs to stay in the mold in order for the resin to set is substantial, especially when it’s not a “heroic” scale… resin cures faster with more mass. Add to this a MUCH shortened mold life compared to metal and you end up with a mini that is more expensive in time/labor and materials. All this is fine if you’re making a character model and charging $15.00 each but you will not be able to make “grunt” troop choice models in volume at a reasonable price without going to China to… Read more »
I’ve been pondering what you’ve said but haven’t replied because of the inevitability of bringing up Finecast arguments…I guess I’ll leave it be, but good to hear from someone who knows industry processes. 🙂
I think Finecast is a great example, they (for the most part) range from $10.00 to $20.00 per mini and have vents and gates that are large and by necessity sometimes obliterating detail portions of the models that you need to whittle away and rebuild. They are also “Heroic” scale adding more mass to the parts and allowing them to cure faster. The Sprue they use to surround the mini allows them to vent and gate wherever they choose and it also adds mass to aid the resin setting. Most manufacturers that are producing quality resin casts are not spincasting,… Read more »
Why are so many people ignorant about the fact that metal (and some resins) allow you to produce higher quality, better detailed models than plastic? The price of metal is sadly quite high.
Very true.
With resin and metal, you don’t have to worry about mold draft angles and mold pull direction; you simple sculpt with an eye to detail and the overall composition. Plastic allows runs in the tens of thousands per day; after the huge upfront costs are absorbed each unit is relatively inexpensive.
Only large companies can afford the sliding molds that allow for complex designs and undercuts.
Metal?
Hmm… I thought they were gonna be plastic
Bye easy conversions…
Although interesting models in general
You can swap the arms, the heads, the legs, the shoulders and the torso…. I don’t think you will have much problem customizing or converting these 😛
for some reason I want to make a van saar necromunda warband from these guys, any idea on release date/retail price/if us in the UK can get em? great sculpts by the way
some nice touches on these- would need to see in the flesh before I bought them as some bits look off. Wide angle lens look on some images.
I can see these being popular
