from the tidbits I am getting from around the net, this might be a cool game.
An RPG with no dice can work, but dice for some reason just makes it more fun.
So a big thumbs up from Darrel and Andy!
Here is RPGnet’s list of the worst RPG’s of all time. Marvel Superheroes doesn’t even come close. Some funny reading…

My fave quote “Phoenix Command is one of the most complex role-playing systems ever devised, to the point of unplayability – with mechanics such as varying times to aim based off square root of a firearm barrel length. After the financial failure of LEG its founder/author, Barry Nakazono, went back to designing rockets for the aerospace industry.”
The problem is the IP that’s attached provides more expectation I mean you really only have to look at the cover of something like F.A.T.A.L. to know what its going to be(IE horrible) but when you look at the cover of this YAAY SPIDEY! I F*****N’ LOVE SPIDEY! GIMME THAT… then you open it.

I have the Marvel Super Heroes RPG game from way back and I really love it. I had a lot of fun with that game just making characters. I really like the way that you can create your whole character just by rolling on all of those tables. It sounds very strategic, but once you know what your game master tends to set for certain difficulty encounters, it sounds like… Read more »
I just got an email from DriveThruRPG about a new Marvel RPG product from Margaret Weis Productions, “Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: Basic Game” – again it looks like it is shying away from any of the ‘known’ systems, though from the preview it sounds like Cortex which has been used in the other MWP products and I kinda like it.
I have the new Marvel game and I think its a rather neat system.
Maybe Beasts of War can get them to give the lads a reviewer’s copy of the pdf. Would love the hear what Darrel and Andy think of this new system.
@tredhed … As you can imagine, I snapped up the PDF as soon as it came out, but I woul prefer a hard copy.
As a general rule BoW don’t do video reviews of PDF only books… Otherwise we get inundated with a lot of frankly sub-par products. However, I’ll check out if there’s a print on demand copy of the new Marvel game and see what we can do.
I’m sure there will be a print copy soon too… Watch this space true believers!
