New Tracked Vehicle from Ainsty Casting

Ainsty Casting have a new vehicle released today. The Walrus Tracked Crawler to be precise, and you can see it below...
While I can see the appeal it doesn't particular do much for me as a model. A little too 'dinky' possibly. Could probably work at least for me as a bit of a terrain feature.
What do you make of the Walrus?
It does have a pretty high centre of gravity and a short wheelbase from the look of it, but its probably intended as farm machinery etc so its going to be terrain most of the time anyway.
It’s a good model, but it needs the tracks to be much shorter in height.
Maybe half as tall.
Also, if they could make one with really wide tracks, it would make a perfect Snow Cat type of vehicle.
With the tracks like that it reminds me of something I seen before what I just can’t remember. Man, I’m really failing on this compression thing. Good to block line of sight.
It might be the crawler used by Newt’s family in Aliens- it was cut from the theatrical but its in the directors cut you get on practically every DVD version of it.
Nah, that one had wheels on suspension struts of some kind. Can’t find a picture though, my Google-fu is weak it seems…
It’d be good terrain for Haqqislam or Ariadna
My thoughts too, a loading bay transport for munitions, fuel and such. I have yet to find some good powerloader models for infinity – probably have to end up kitbashing some.
Not very good IMHO. The concept for a loading vehicle is reasonably sound, but the track base is too narrow – you would have to be precise on balancing any load on this. Another note, how do you get in & out? If the access point is at the back and the load is in place, etc how does the driver get out?
In short, Widen the track base and insert a door/hatch into the vehicle, then you’ve got the basis of a decent vehicle.
