there already exists a model of Abyssal Terror
Lies 😛 there is but it is pretty awful xD
On the VAmpire vs Necromancer, it is cool to have a tooled yp 400 pt vamp lord running around but with him being in combat a lot he is more likely to die, where as if you take a combat lord and spend points on a master necromancer lv 4 it allows you to have your main wizard sit beinhd your lines and in a unit out of the way not die. problem with ghoul king is that for 25 points a normal vamire can get ASF which means that he pretty much gets rerolls all the time and he… Read more »
What comes to lord choices I have nothing against Master Necromancer but I can’t really see myself using one over Vampire Lord. Then again I am not into those zombie summon horde builds that some gamers seem to be into so I don’t really have reason to run Master Necromancer. I love how Vampire Lord can be customized into personal preference.
What comes to hero choices its intresting that both Cairn Wraith and Tomb Banshee are in it. That defenetly brings some new options what comes to VC hero choices.
I actually find the vampires to be so incredibly versatile now as with their stats they are pretty good off the bat you can make pure magic and cause all sorts of trouble and can still fend themselves if they get into combat. You can make them into a combo so they can help out in multiple or you can make in CC powerhouse capable of tearing a dragon apart without much difficulty. Necromancers both types I find are nice spell casters supporting your army and in 3000pt games if you’ve got a cc lord then having a master necromancer… Read more »
Why bother making the Wight King a BSB? The entire army is immune to psych the only time you need to roll ld is when you crumble and even then all it does is cause 1 less wound which is hardly worth 25 pts.
Also, there are no banners worth taking that your regular standard bearers cant already afford.
For the cost, I can see people running him as a CC hero to go in with Grave Guard, but I dont see him being mandatory in every list. He is better than Krell though 😛
Oh I agree but I’m making a Blood Dragon list themed around Bretonnians and Brets must have a Paladin as Bret Standard bearer thus wight with Battle standard to represent is the reason I’m taking it otherwise yes make him CC based and lop peoples heads off.
Sounds really good actually. I’m going to be running Blood Knights in most lists with a vamp hero on barded nightmare. I can easily see a Cav-heavy list doing really well in this book. I’m liking the idea of quick and mobile VC list with lost of tarpits and few hounds. Lets us know how your list works… As for me, I’m still looking for Sisters of Battle transfer sheets so I can make a War of the Roses/Villains of Shakespeare’s History Plays army
Dare I say Banshees are amazing? 😉 Especially when combined with a Vampire with -1LD for the enemy… that one point does actually make a difference. Also, they can “shoot” into close combat IIRC, and have quite a good movement. A bit like Hexwraiths: Situational, but with high potential. Wraiths: I mainly use mine to lead Zombie Hordes. It gives them a little more LD, and the enemy something annoying to gnaw on. Causing Terror does come nin handy every now and again, but ultimately I find that Wraiths increase the tar pit nature of Zombies a lot (50 Zombies… Read more »
