Lay Down some Heavy Fire-power with DreamForge
January 29, 2012 by brennon
Some pretty fantastic looking previews and 3D Renders for the upcoming Eisenkern Heavy Troopers from DreamForge Games are up on their site.
The first preview below shows off the Quad-Guns of the heavy trooper. A pretty powerful set of weapons on a heavily armoured soldier. This was the miniature that made me think of the Weird World War uses, reminding me of the heavy troopers of Hydra in Captain America.
The Assault Specialist could be seen as the leader of the squad and with the massive blade at his disposal. When I first saw this it reminded me of Anime style knights. Could that possibly be another direction to go down when it comes to painting these guys?
The Heavy Auto-Cannon makes up the last of the preview renders. With a massive belt fed gun and shells that look like they could blast apart a tank I wouldn't like to meet him in a dark alleyway.
Loving the Kill Zone style helmet added to this trooper as an alternative addition. As you can see below the models are intended to come with many component pieces allowing you to really make the kind of trooper you want. Can't wait to see these guys in later stages of development.
These guys look pretty amazing and could work in a variety of different settings. I could seriously see these as good Weird World War soldiers.
What do you make of these renders?
Very nice except for the rear skirt – need to check their site out for views.
These have some potential! Will be keeping my eyes on DreamForge.
Those look promising althought I want to see complite models before I can form better opinion about those.
Thanks Brennon for picking this up 🙂
These have a lot of potential.
I love DreamForge’s large machines but the price is just too much for me, and that is only made worse by international shipping and import tax.
To be honest I’d like to see some of their larger models scaled down to 15mm or less as they would be great not only for games in that scale but as robots in 28mm+ scale.
They are at the casters right now 🙂 5.5″ tall fixed pose legs and metal perts for the fiddly-bits down from 133 parts to about 16?
I will post as soon as my first article from the caster is in my grubby little hands.
Sounds great, will be good to see more from these miniatures 🙂 Best of luck.

Wow, they look great. I really hope that they turn out well in the casting stage. Finally space marines without the dumb bellbottoms!
First thing I thought was how cool they would look next to a contemptor pattern dreadnought from forgeworld.
See ? It’s not that hard to do a Space Muhreen that looks cool and doesn’t have bell shaped pants and shoulder pads.

Indeed, sir, indeed. In fact, if these are the right scale, I think I might use them to make a small Practical Marines force.
I really like the falschirmjaeger/gasmask head. I know there’s at least a couple of companies that produce minis with such a head option already (Wargames Factory’s Gratcoat Shock Troops and Pig Iron Productions’ Kolony Militia come to mind) but it’s such a cool look. Since everybody does it, mix-and-match armies sporting them don’t tend to look too conspicuous.
I think these look really really good, I’m pretty excited to see where these go. My only discrepancy is that the other figures the company manufactures are all extremely expensive, albeit they are quite large, they are still very expensive. I hope these are on-par with pricing of other minis, if they are, I will be buying many.

Agreed, the Leviathans are a huge chunk of change; my caster charges a considerable sum to make each kit. I plan on re-releasing a more fixed pose version. They will still have some freedom of pose but not to the degree of the current kits. This will bring the part count WAY down and the casting costs with it.
As to the minis (troops) they are priced competitively with other 28/32mm minis. The process and costs to make these are very different than the large resin kits.
Me likee! Me likee a lot! I’m definitely checking these out!!!
Just a bit of an update… a few new designs and a call for feedback before they are finalized.
