November 6, 2010 by dignity
Today Andy has a look at the new kabalite warriors from the dark elder, overall some really cool models but what will Andy make of them?

Might aswell be first to point it out…
25 seconds in Andy calls them Dark Elfs.
Though seeing as I’ve started saying Elfdar and Dark Elfdar I’m hardly one to judge.
Thanks for the video! Those were some fantastic poses: very dynamic.
took me two bloody days!!!
Two days spent well, mate! Those poses were great. I never thought I’d get so excited about some weedy pointy eared panzees, but their range proves to be graet so far.
Elfdar… better than our gaydar… them being jolly and happy and all.
I was looking at them and was thinking an awesome paint scheme might be one similar to the avatar of khaine, the dark magma-y one, not the blood red one.
I would just like to point out that at 0:50, is not a Dark Lance but the Splinter cannon.
At 1:35, the large weapon at the top left corrner is the dark lance.
And at 1:43, sorry but no these are not carbins. The top weapon is the shredder and the bottom one is the blaster.
I would like to point out that at 0:00 I was building stuff and making stuf up without the codex… I’m just say’in!
BoW Andy
Yes It was all a bit misleading there but good to get a look at the sprue anyway.
Andy you said that you did not think the Kabolite warriors were that good. I would like to say that I have to disagree with you. I have spent the last 10 years watching Dark Eldar warriors slaughter their way across the gaming table. As for the dark lance, I have seen the blaster do more than the dark lance ever could. The reason is the dark lance is a heavy weapon were the blaster is an assault weapon, and the warriors need to keep moving and the dark lance dose not alow them to do that. Now yes I… Read more »
DIsagreemet is what the gaming world is all about! 🙂 I have no problem with people telling me the Kabalite Warriors are better than I think they are. In fact, I would love to be proved wrong. But all I see are stories about how the Kabalites might have manged to do something worthwhile in a limited set of circumstances… what you don’t hear are the tales of them getting trounced by a couple of Space Marines or being hosed by the Imperial Guard. Which (unfortunately) has been the case each time we have tried to play them at the… Read more »
I wont say that the kabalite warriors are great, but there are two ways to use them and keep them alive. One you stake them out on objectives with splinter cannons and rapid fire the heck out of any thing that comes close. Or two keep them on a raider zipping around causing havoc. Either way you don’t let space marines or any other unit get close, because your right a couple of tac. marines could wipe out the unit. So give them as many shots as you can and keep them moving or in a building and you can’t… Read more »
Keeping the unit moving is the best tactic, A tactic is use is mounting them in a raider then by adding Splinter racks allows the unit on-board to re-roll its shooting and being opentopped all can shoot, thats 10-20 shots with re-rolls then always wounding on 4+, or mounting trueborns wth 4 blasters and a dracon with a blast pistol (if you want to pay the points) makes an effective elite hunter, move round the sides and blast ’em from the raider with the blasters 5 shots of instant death and putting a disintergrator cannon on the raider adds insult… Read more »
I agree with Wolflord68
I find Kabalite warriors very strong when they are mobile and giving them Dark lances is a waste of points really. the blasters are far more useful but if ur going to sue th Kabalite warriors to camp on objectives then yeh maybe the Dark lance would be good.
nice poses on the models.
Well I suspect if you play with mates, and they know you’re going to be playing dark eldar. I bet you’ll start seeing a lot more whirlwinds coming back to the table. The Dark lances although are very good, I still had terrible trouble killing anything with them due to my ability to roll 1’s at vital moments (usually when I’m trying to drive a tank over a stone!!!). As long as in your army you have a clear idea as to what the job of the unit is it will work fine. i.e. give them cannons and be non-vehicle… Read more »
first of all I love the poses. second I would probably go with the normal warriors simply because they are cheaper.
This is probably a silly question, but looking at the models under the close cam it looks like they’re female. Is that right? BTW great vid, I might have to start getting a Dark Eldar army instead of an Ork one thanks to you!
Go with the Ork! Nobetter way than the green way! Them Dark Panzees are weedy lousy gits!
That’s not a dark lance, but a splinter cannon
The models with breasts are “gals” not “guys”. Hehe.
Love the way the parts were positioned, and has given me a lot to think about once I get my list going.
I hate the bare heads this time around. They belong on a caveman/woman, not dark eldar.
