its been a bit since i read the official rules. but if on your first roll, you hit a misfire, can the engineer change that roll? or is he only allowed to change the distance (which incidentally might actually roll a misfire the second time).
Anyway, can your engineer change a misfire if its on the first roll?
yep… Change the misfire…
One other thing… The cannon could choose to fire first and if the roll is a good one then the engineer could fire his rifle or whatever…?
I would allow it…
How do challenges work in combat?
I feel that a re-roll is a powerful and handy bit to have. I plan on having an engineer around for my cannons.
Thanks for the video.
Oops,
Major flaw in Darrel’s logic:
When he states that all shooting units have to declare targets at start of turn. Rulebook (pg 38 – phase sequence) states do it unit by unit.
Since 8th ed Engineers only need to be within 3″ and don’t now join shooting unit. (see FAQ for engineers). Always fire cannons etc. first and decide after roll whether engineer’s skills needed to re-roll.
If engineer’s re-roll not used for any shooter (and could be within 3″ of multiple shooting units) then he’s free to fire independently as own unit at whoever they like.
