Imperial Guard Rapier from Forge World

Check out the new Imperial Guard heavy weapons platform from Forge World... the Rapier!
I'm sure this isn't a "new" model... did the Imperial Guard used to have a Rapier way back in the days of Squats and Thudd Guns?
Of course there are some rules... you can find them HERE.

Now that you mention it Andy, I think your right.
They most certainly did

I actually quite like it. A tad hungry on the wallet for 3 of them and you might want tanks in those Heavy support slots but they’ll make their points back easily with those rules.
I wonder if there will be later crew options to use it with the other regiments, probably not Elysians since it looks a bit heavy to air drop(well more than once), but it would be nice to have all your army match if you’ve resisted a combined/mixed IG force for all of one type, or even if you have an old metal army kicking around.
Its similar to Mantics FF Jotunn Gun….. but not as good imo. Actually the Jotunn might be a nice, cheaper alternative for IG players. In fact you nearly get 3 Jotunns for the cost of one rapier.
I use to own one of the original all pewter ones. Way back in the Rouge Trader days.

I seem to remember you could take these for both IG or for Marines. I know I had one of the orig metals way back but I used it with my Marines. (Sold it or trashed it a loooong time ago.) Rogue Trader was notoriously fuzzy on who could use what weapons. I’m certain I ran one of these with my smurfs though.
The Siegmasters have rapiers in Epic – Armageddon. Those ones are wheeled I believe, like all of their other artillery. They have thudd guns too.
Excuse my ignorance but the rules don’t seem to indicate that it can move, despite it has tracks. Am I missing something?
Its artilery, so the rules for its movement are in the main rulebook.
its awzome
