In the second part, Warren and Ben take you through some more of the basics that you'll come across in a game of Dystopian Wars
hmmm and a free rule book as well … getting harder to refuse 😉
Some checking with Army Builder and I see that £50 gets me 1000 (well 990) points of Kingdom of Britannia and the pack of cards. With the rules as well that’s all I need to start. I was thinking of starting with naval/aerial only, is that OK or do I need land units?
Naval and Aerial is a perfect combination to start with. You don’t need land units or air units really unless you want them, as the core of it has always been the naval battles.
I just wish that Spartan Games had 2 starter Fleets, that you could down load and print of, So you could give the game a try before you spent a lot of monye on it. Like they did with Uncharted seas and Firestorm Armada.
Awesome. Is there a Spartan Games or Distopian Wars Group we can use? I’d like to discuss lists and gameplay styles?
Yup lets get stuck into this group

You can always use the templates for Uncharted Seas and just ‘assume’ they are the ones for Dystopian Wars, if you want to try out the mechanics etc.
That looks like a lot of fun – how about a follow up video of the ground based game 🙂
Bombers actually use the 45 degree truning template…
Great intro vid guys – simple, but giving a good sense of the mechanics and play. Got some questions:
I’m wondering how this plays compared to Leviathans?
What is a usual game size, how many models? How long does a usual game take?
How important is the land stuff, not sure if I want to go into that… Is the future of the game going to lean more towards land stuff?
How big a table do you need?
Noticed that spartan have been updating models with cad designed ones with killer detail. Are all the models in this format?
quite a few of these rules remind me of full thrust, that’ll make it easier for me to get started 🙂
im a big fan of full thrust
