New ALIEN: Covenant Prologue & Trailer Released
February 23, 2017 by brennon
With all of this talk of Exoplanets right now we're all a bit fascinated by space. Well, maybe this will give you a few chills when you see the new ALIEN: Covenant prologue that popped up this week.
The new Prologue that was shown gives you about four minutes of footage from the movie as the colony ship, Covenant, heads out to a new world. David (Michael Fassbender) features once more with a new crew of explorers.
After the prologue, you get a look at the trailer for the film which gives you a taste of the horror that awaits the crew.
Will you be giving this one a look when it releases in May?

Im really looking forward to this! I liked Prometheus so its nice to see this follow it up and kind of draw things more into the franchise.
Well, if I haven’t gotten my Nostromo build back on track by May, this is bound to do the trick!
I hope it’s good but I’m personally really bored of xenomorphs* (I prefered the face huggers anyway) and would rather see new giger creature designs like prometheus did, just with a better plot/writing than that film.
*I’m aware I’m likely the minority here.
Completely agree in the sense than, no matter how well this film is put together, nothing can ever match the horror experienced when cinema-goers in 1979 saw John Hurt on that table and the gross scene that followed, or when you finally got to see the alien.
So in that sense i would be more interested in the film makers mining the oddball, slightly perverse but brilliant imagination of Giger and shocking us in a new way.
But, a new alien film! Its hard to not get excited
I guess for giger stuff there is at leaest this video-game Scorn coming that looks interesting and captures that nightmarish giger otherworldliness well :

Prometheus was a terrible script with complete nonsense character reactions made by a film maker who should have known much much better than to film that garbage. It looked great though at least. Yet Scott followed it up with ;the Martian; as his next space film, which was great. Go figure.
Some of the scenes remind me a bit of the comics by Dark Horse. I thought R. Scott was going to do a follow-up of Prometheus. Wasn’t the best movie (and some of the acting/dialogue was questionable) but I thought the overall story was interesting.
I was hoping for the Aliens sequel that got recently cancelled with Ripley and Hicks returning.
Not ‘this’.
Oh well… to each his own I guess but i’ll be skipping this one.
looks like the Prometheus world has evolved in to a death world.
I despised Prometheus. It ruined the sense of mystery surrounding the first film and what I thought were its amazing crab elephant aliens, which turned out to be cheap space marines. I wouldn’t have minded if the crab aliens remained a little mysterious. Also hated the Scientology like premise they applied to the franchise, and hope they throw that line of plot completely out the window.
The only redeeming feature was Michael Fassbender, my favourite actor post 2010.
I was more excited for Prometheus than any film release before or after (Alien was my Star Wars)… but i’ve never been more disappointed in anything (suppose that’s a bit hyperbolic, i’ve been way more disappointed by elections haha! – that’s not for this website). Prometheus was a mess of storytelling and lackluster character and plot development. And to anyone that thinks acting was shoddy, i’d say that was down to the corpse of a script they were given to work with rather than the skills of the performers. The reason the Martian was way better was because the script… Read more »
after prometeus i dont expect much, i enjoyed that movie but i expected more.
I have to say that the engineers, or whatever they are called, seem to be worthless pilots as they have crashed at least one of their ships on every plants. I’ll go and watch the movie in the cinema but…I feel the franchise needs a big change.
It’s AvKFP! Alien vs Kenny ******* Powers!
