We love the idea of consequences being part of the outcome of each battle. Both the winner and loser will get something and form up an intriguing narrative which will continue from game to game. Of course, the pre-order bonus Samurai is always a nice boost and something Warlord Games do with a lot of their big new releases.

The Core Game isn't the only option as they have also put together a Complete Bundle which adds new models to help build up your warband.

It's awesome that these boxes each come with their own little slice of story to them making it a lot more than just a box of models. The sculpts are also fantastic and we can't wait to see more of this game! If you're getting in on this then we want to know your thoughts.

Any idea if these are multi part plastics?
Yeah – as far as I know, these are the old WGF Samurai plastic kits (e.g. multipart) with a few metal upgrade parts such as different heads. Even though I already have a bunch of nice Kensei miniatures, I will probably pick this set up too as I really like those old plastics, especially the cavalry.
In the base game, yes. In the expansions they are multi-part plastic and metal.
Thanks for the info guys. I really struggle to motivate myself when I basically end up with three models poses in a 20 man unit with the odd head change. One think GW got spot on with the Skaven boxsets.
From their website “Test of Honour is a skirmish wargame played with roughly 5-20 models on each side. Players select their force before each game based around a samurai hero along with one or two loyal samurai companions and a variety of clan soldiers.” Hmm, sounds like there is drafting mechanism like Mythic Battles but they have no board. This looks very nice indeed and it answers my question as to whether Warlord are producing miniatures to support it! Will I play test of honour? I have no idea but I play lot of RPGs and love using miniatures in them – I can definitely see me getting these as I like to have miniatures that represent as many different cultures and tropes as I can.
Models look better as an artwork on the boxes than the miniatures.
I’m not a fan of the Wargames Factory models at all, so although the game looks potentially interesting, I will probably give it a miss. (Still playing Ronin by Osprey at the moment anyway).
I do like this and £35 for the starter set, which come with 35 minis enough for two factions it’s a definite game to pick up.
