Motorised Rifle Company

John and Karl look over the last of the four new boxed sets for Flames of War Blitzkrieg! This is the German Motorised Rifle Company. It has a good mix of close support, anti-tank and infantry. Check this out for a good basis for a German Early War Army!
Another great vid 🙂 I was thinking about doing a Motorised Infantry Company for early war, this has helped me make my mind up.
Glad you mention the empty box that comes with it, saves me ranting/crying when i get mine!!
Jäger is pronounced with YeA-gher, the “ä” in this case makes the same sound as the “a” in hay.
Some immigrants to America with Jäger as a surname would change the spelling of their name to Yeager so that it was pronounced correctly.
yay StuG´s gotta love StuG´s ^^
Great vid and great box sets.
But as I watch all these FoW unboxing’s I have to wonder. Do the boxes come with assembly instructions? If I was new to the game how would I know what tracks and guns go on what tank?
All the box’s i have brought come with no instructions of any kind. The biggest problem with the kits that contain lots of parts is trying to figure out what to do with it all. I often found i had to go to the FoW website to double check I had everything correctly assembled. It’s not such a problem on the tanks but the smaller models like artillery aren’t so obvious/easy to put together. In the long run it didn’t stop me playing but some beginners may be put off once they open their first army/company boxed set, and have… Read more »
That would be my biggest criticism of Battlefronts larger kits. If you got all of this stuff in blisters you do get a very tiny instruction sheet. The bigger sets for some reason seem to be hit and miss, some come with decent enough instructions while others are totally without. My best advise would be to have a look at their online webstore, they have some good photos of the models up there and as nearly everything only has half a dozen parts, it is normally a matter of working just what part you actually need. I am guessing it… Read more »
I’m so excited by these Early War releases. I’ve long had an interest in these Early battles and campaigns. Thanks for these videos, guys!
My opinion on Early War? The most interesting.. 😉
I’m waiting for this box purely for the Panzer Jaeger 1. It is the only one I really want to get because it’s not all tanks. Always good for a bit of variety.
So the Sig is AT-8, FP-1+. That makes it a very powerful unit for Early War doesn’t it. I’d be worried by them in mid war. Is there anything else is EW that can match that.
Thanks for the look
🙂
Whittman, FTW!
ps, It was the Northhamptonshire Yeomanry, not the Sherbrooke’s that got him!
The truth is that no one has been able to fully substantiate a credible claim the killing shot on Wittmann’s Tiger Ie. The latest evidence actually gives more credit to Sherbrooke Fusiliers Regiment, 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade than any others.
The only certain answer is that he was killed by the allies…and I doubt that anything more accurate than that will ever be proven.
based on what ive seen and read. it appears the Canadians had the best oppertunity to make the kill. As the British from their vantage point were actually out of LOS of 007. They may have been able to see his engine smoke or part of the turret. But based on the damage sustained and where it was located on the tank the British tank would have created a bulge in the side armour on the outside facing of the rear left plate. Since the only picture only shows that the hull has burned and the turret only burned slightly.… Read more »
does anyone know where i can get flames of war in belfast because i cant find any where
Arkham Gaming Centre in Glenoe, just outside Larne. Google for opening times and forum.
Has anyone else seen just how incredibly poor the figures are in this German EW boxed set? The vehicles are fine but the figures look like cheap knock-offs with incorrect gear, strange poses and very bad flash and detail?
