Team Covenant Preview Upcoming Star Wars: Destiny Cards
February 8, 2017 by brennon
Despite there being a shortage of product for the game, Star Wars: Destiny has taken off like a rocket and it's easy to see why; the game is great fun! Fantasy Flight's Lukas Litzsinger sat down with Team Covenant this week to show off some new cards from the upcoming box, Spirit of Rebellion.
You can hear more about the cards in the video above but you can check them out here! Both a new version of Darth Vader and the first Obi-Wan Kenobi card are going to be included within the set for you to hunt for.
Anakin/Darth Vader is a fascinating card which really pushes the way you manipulate your health to maximise damage output. It's a risk, but then again that's very much within the Sith wheelhouse. Matched with the five cost event you see at the back there, Rise Again, which heals damage and allows you to play a blue card for free, and you have quite the potent combination.
Obi-Wan Kenobi then pushes the sacrificial side of things. With a rather powerful die and a great card ability, you're going to be taking on a lot of heat to then make your supporting character much more powerful. Bear in mind that if they then don't focus on Obi-Wan Kenobi you will be dishing out some serious hurt.
A few more cards were also previewed including the Carbon Freezing Chamber Battlefield which enables you to remove a die for the round. This can be powerful when you start seeing players using one or two characters compared to the massed ranks of the first set.
What do you think of the current Destiny situation?

Those seem like good cards.
I’ve heard talk of elite Darth Vader elite Kylo Ren decks. Sounds nasty.
With the elite Palpatine being 28pts I wonder if and ultra cheap character card is in the pipeline. Maybe a Protocol droid or something that produces resources maybe.
