Tzeentch’s Minions Grow In Number With Age Of Sigmar Preview!
January 15, 2017 by brennon
Getting ahead of the crowd when it comes to leaks on the internet the Warhammer Community team has put together a very nice look at what's around the corner for the Disciples Of Tzeentch in Age of Sigmar from Games Workshop. We'll kick off with the big bird himself, Kairos Fateweaver.
The kit can be built in a number of different ways and one of them is to bring the Fateweaver himself to life in all his glory. I think this even better than the regular Changer Of Ways and I love the design of the two heads which takes things to that next 'magical' level that we're seeing in Age Of Sigmar.
Tzaangor Spellcasters
Following on from him we have some support of the sorcerous kind as we look to the Tzaangor Shaman.
This fellow looks great, and I wasn't that much of a fan of the Tzaangor design if I'm honest. I do like it here though and I think it carries over, for the most part, into his Skyflyer bodyguards who are going to be soaring around the battlefield with him.
There is certainly a sense of 'marmite' around this faction as some people are really liking the design philosophy here whilst others are totally against it. I think they've hit the nail on the head with some of their key characters even if the rank and file don't quite meet the same level for me.
Horrors Burst Forth
Additionally, we're seeing the Horrors leap forth from the magical tears in reality led by The Changeling itself.
The Changeling had a massive part to play in The End Times as he wove the pattern of fate around the downfall of humanity before the forces of Chaos. Now he/she/it has returned and is looking superb in that hooded robe. Very mysterious.
Some of his smaller and more explosive brethren are following in his wake too.
So, there is quite a good crop of miniatures on the way for those loving the Disciples of Tzeentch and hopefully, we'll see them hit the tabletop soon from the Warhammer TV Livestreams over on Twitch.
What do you think of their design choices?

I wasn’t going to start a Tzeentch army but damn they’re making it hard.
Okay I haven’t had a sensory overload like this since I was in Vegas. Im gonna sit back and drink my water while my brain processes all the colours, minis and awesomeness.
I loved the old changeling and the new one’s managed to improve it. That’s quite an achievement, GW
I may pick this guy up he does look great I totally agree 🙂
Not normally tempted by chaos forces but this is really pushing my limits. Lovely minis.
Gimme! I want it all!
So I only play Warhammer 40k (chaos daemons) not Age of sigmar but can use most of those (actually would be no problem to jump into age of sigmar i guess) but loving all the mini’s, I actually quite liked the changeling they had but this one is great but oh my Tzeentch, was looking forward to lord of change for a while, I will get one definitely for the Kairos Fateweaver even though have the old one (well have old one of both) and even though still waiting on 3rd party LoC, I’m almost 50-50 if to get two… Read more »
Separate just in case not allowed to post links, my reaction to this new Tzeentch stuff.

That is exactly how I got into AoS. Already had a large Nurgle Daemons army for 40k and it ported straight across.
Kairos looks awesome. Mainly because they gave him a far better paint job than the regular LoC we saw earlier in the week. It’s more muted but way more effective because of it. I’m not just looking at a mess of glaring highlights.
With my silver tower box it makes me consider playing them as a team.
The sculpts look phenomenal and hopefully they will be fun to play.
It’s hard to see the detail on them… again. Might be the paint in this case. The bottom one is OK, but the robes look stiff.
Hard to appreciate GW models after building Gamezone feudal and vampire cavalry over the last few days!
From those The Changeling is only one that I actually like.
Really liking the look of all of these.
It’s a shame I didn’t take to the game when I tried it. Perhaps I should give it another go?
Oh alright then… Great Satan of Nottingham, a Tzeench force it is!
I’m not in to change always nurgle boy but that Kairos would be such a challenge to paint !
The Changeling is by far the best out of the new minis. Fateweaver looks better than the generic LoC, which supports the sentiment that the angle of the pic and paint job made it look worse than it was, but I think even then it’s a minor improvement. I much prefer the current/soon to be retired LoC over this new one. Can’t think of any off the top of my head, but I’m sure I’ve seen better third party not-LoCs out there, sobif im ever in the need of one will probably get one of those over this new plastic… Read more »
The Tzaangors, as models are really elegant, detailed and dynamic sculpts. They’re a great kit. Try a box – they’re not horribly pricey and are really a superb kit. Regarding the Lord of Change – there’s a resin one from Creature Caster, but that’s not available and is really only 50mm wide as that was the market back then). Other companies have created Vrock models (which the Lord of Change is sourced from) but this is a beautiful, imposing model that would be a magnificent centre piece for a Tzeentch army. The older one was great, but it was unbalanced,… Read more »
The Creature Caster version is amazing! All of them were purposely built 50mm wide so as not to leave too large a footprint on the table. I don’t play GW games, so I’m not sure about the basing, but I suppose you could always build it on to a larger base.
Most of CC’s models were part of a Kickstarter campaign, AFAIK, and they are still fulfilling those obligations. Can’t wait till us mere mortals get a crack at them!
Yeah I have an order for the Creature caster lord of change looking one and almost wasn’t sure if to get one since well if they’ll finally send the thing, seem to be finally sending ’em at end of last year but taken him/them what 2 years?
To be honest I find the proportions on this one odder, the heads and hands look undersized and the torso too beefed up; while the head and hands on the old one might be too big proportionally compared to a human’s, they gave it a charm this one lacks. The overall effect is that this new one looks like just a monster while the old one looks like a magical entity of deceit/a jackass genie. As for the Tzaangors, the above sculpts look a mess, and the standard ones are only marginally better, but still look pig ugly; the bodies… Read more »
some great figures but they cant corrupt me.
THE EMPEROR POTECTS ?
Am I right in saying that the Tzaangors that seem to be shown right at the start of the video haven’t been released for AoS (I know there is a kit for 40k)?
Those Tzaangors seem to be from a normal unit (like the cultists), but there doesn’t seem to be a release picture for them.
I’ve read somewhere that the 40k box comes with pieces for both versions.
I really like the Changeling and the Tzaangors, Kairos/the LoC not so much, thid really makes me want to start an AoS army and as i already have Silver Tower these miniatures would make a great addition.

What…. you realise Fateweaver has existed in Resin (a superior model it seems) that was only scrapped a few days ago due to being replaced with this plastic model above (at 2 or 3 times the price, I’m sure) …
He was talking about the standard build of Lord of Change you also get in the boxed set, as there are variations like the Bloodthirster kit, with Kairos in it. It was covered in another article a few days ago.
