The Iron Crows Are Bringing Classic Dwarves To Kickstarter This Spring
January 9, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
For all those fantasy gamers that love their dwarves (ahem! Ben!), you need to keep your eye out for The Iron Crows Kickstarter from Durgin Paint Forge that will launch this March.
They plan to have a range of sixteen different, classic dwarves in a 30mm scale, perfect to expand your collection. These guys are looking awesome - so full of character and details! Have a look at their Facebook page and read through the descriptions for the dwarves.
It's impossible not to smile and feel the strong shiny syndrome urge beckoning you to mark the launch date on your calendar.
The Iron Claw will launch on Kickstarter on March 20th, which smartly gives everyone a chance to recover from their Christmas shopping.
Will you be adding these characters to your collection?

not sure what I’ll be using these guys for yet, but definitely going to get in on this.
@Brennon ‘s gonna cream his pants when he sees these.
Not sure if this has been pointed out at their Kickstarter, but I’m quite curious as to where the line is drawn between inspiration and design theft. The iron masked fellow has too much of a similarity with Paul Bonners dwarven armour designs for it to simply be an coincidence.
Hello, I’m Matteo from Durgin Paint Forge 🙂 You’re right, there is a clear inspiration in our work, for these dwarves we have worked with artists like Justin Gerard, for example, so I think it’s more appropriate to suggest Gerard as the main inspiration of our dwarves. I do love Paul Bonner, and Bonner himself asked us to save a copy of our dwarves for him, so I think he just doesn’t feel himself “robbed” u_u The masked one is my personal tribute to Trudvang’s art: I played their games since years, and I wanted to make a miniature with… Read more »
I didn’t find your answer rude at all. Justin Gerard is a new name for me and one I’ll be sure to look up as I do like the look of your models. I was mainly referring to the dwarf in the mask. But seeing that you both sought out one of the Trudvang authors and got in contact with Bonner I can’t really complain 🙂 Good luck with your upcoming Kickstarter!
Yes, I admit that for us having the appreciation of mr. Bonner was such a great honor, I’m really proud of it cause I think he understood the “nature” of our style. This project has started some years ago, when I wanted only to make some great dwarves for my followers. I planned just few characters, and I wanted only to realize the miniatures I always wanted (I started collecting miniatures when I was 12, principally warhammer and confrontation dwarves!). Dwarves are my passion, and of course when I thought about “my dwarves”, I couldn’t help but inserting in them… Read more »
That’s a good response. I know it’s difficult to avoid being inspired inadvertently.
Your Dwarves are fantastic and I am really looking forward to your Kickstarter!
Maybe it was wrong of me to imply that any theft could have occurred before getting the full picture of the situation as well. Were I to contact you directly (instead of just asking a question on the BoW-forum) I certainly would’ve toned down anything that could be regarded as an accusation. And as you explained I can imagine that designing a large number of unique models while having a wide spectra of inspirational sources makes it hard to not (at least on occasion) lean on established designs, even if that never was the intention. But since none of the… Read more »
some nice figures here.
I’ve little interest in dwarfs but I know superbly characterful minis when I see them. Hats off to the sculptors!
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE LITTLE INTEREST IN DWARFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ……but I liked you …sniff
