Fenris Raise A Draugr Wyrm From The Dead
January 8, 2017 by dracs
Fenris have asked themselves the question "why stop at undead humans?" and have been busy raising up Vermiis, the Draugr Wyrm.
The idea of a zombie dragon is one that has always both fascinated and horrified me. You take one of fantasy's most feared creatures and turn it into a walking corpse!
Fenris have done a good job at creating a pretty rotten monster, although I do question about how intact the wings would be. I particularly like the way it has been sculpted peering around a rock, which makes it much more menacing.
The sculpt itself is quite big, coming in at 240mm in length and made up of ten pieces, plus the three-part rider. Fenris are currently trying to gauge interest in this model and are considering taking it to Kickstarter.
I think this makes for a superb monster and Fenris have succeeded in creating quite a cinematic sculpt. I would actually prefer it without the rider. I just figure a zombie dragon would be too unstable magically speaking for someone to ride it.
Would you be interested in seeing this sculpt on the tabletop?

love it reminds me of the Pelennor field ringwraith king.
I like it but nothing about it makes me think undead dragon. I wouldn’t have thought it was undead without you saying so.
The grey parts are bone and the green is the tattered flesh hanging off. It’s most noticeable on the ribs, neck, and tail where chunks of flesh are missing.
I think a painted version would really show off the dead-ness
that is old school
