Mennes’ Mini-Mashup: Convergence Of Cyriss Prime Axiom Re-Imagined [Part Three]
December 30, 2016 by dignity
We're now finishing up this mega-build for the Prime Axiom from the Convergence Of Cyriss in Warmachine and we reckon Tomas has done a great job on this Mini-Mashup.
With all of the components not kit-bashed together like this, it is time for us to consider how we're going to get some paint down on this model.
So...keep an eye out for more soon!
What do you think of the finished creation?
I found the previous scorpion I mentioned. Posted it in a PM att PP Forums. I do like this one better though.
that looks great
I would love to see it painted or at least primed.
You’re in luck 🙂
There is something extremely cathartic about watching Mennes ripping up a model and sticking it back together again. You do things that I wouldn’t dare, and for that, I commend you sir!
I think it looks great but then again, I am not too sure what it’s supposed to look like. OFF TO GOOGLE!
I’ll admit I wasn’t a big fan of the design as I started watching Part One, but as the build developed and I got to hear the design reasons and choices, I was eventually won over. The best part of the series for me was in the candid moments talking about: how you take time to consider things; the “walk away, and think about it” principle of project building; that you make mistakes like anybody else would; and, of course, mistakes aren’t the end-of-the-world, just adjust your plan and move forward. Thanks, mate. To be honest, the candid moments are the most important for me. Behind every project I do, there’s a lot of trial and error. The main thing is that you try things. They can go horribly wrong, but you will learn from it.
There’s nothing as bad as not daring to start on a new project. Trust me, I know from experience how daunting a new project can be.
It’s incredible to see how you create that, remaking it like a demiurge… It’s the little things and techniques that are most impressive, because they make your life so much easier ! Everyone can cut plastic, but it takes a great deal of experience to be able to both “see” it in your mind and improvise it as well. I find a commonality of spirit with painting, at this stage.
Yeah, indeed. I always keep saying that your eyes are far more important than your hands when painting or converting. Look around. See what looks good in nature. In real life. In art. Then remember it and copy it when the need arises.
Visualising what you want to do is half of the work.
What an amazing imagination to be able to see that creation in those pieces. How have you not been grabbed up by one of the big company’s to add to their universes?
Really loved watching this. Romain is right, there is an artistic flair in the way Mennes visualises what he wants to achieve and then makes his vision reality. Truly an enjoyable series. Thanks
the model looks great finished.
Cracking job 😀 .
thanks for sharing your skills. the finished model is imaginative and looks great.
