Happy weekend!
DF commander boot camp was brilliant.
RIP Jack
Well said gentlemen.
Happy Weekend! In an equally strange way as Warren’s number/colour mind meld, the mention of the BoW annual awards event, conjures up deep, almost primeval, (in my case being an old bloke!) warm fuzzy feelings. I have really enjoyed the previous years awards events, the lead up, the short listing, the voting and finally, the awards evening, resplendent with formal dress code etc etc. To me, it’s like the ‘official’ ending of one game year and into the New Gaming Year! with all the ‘what’s next’ to be revealed excitement feeling, (just like being a kid again). Summing up: Thank… Read more »
Happy weekend. On the last leg of my journey home. From the last trip to BoW HQ
Flames of War Boot Camp.
Oriskany . . . inbound. 😀 😀 😀
I never knew you were into second world war stuff buddy hehe 😀
1:21:02 the moment Warren let slip he is going to eat Justin’s Ass! Maybe the most disturbing mental picture possible that has been mentioned on the show and that’s saying something 😀
It’s the weekend!! But will we all survive in one piece? 😉
Sounds like Warren has a mild case of Synesthesia to me! At least you didn’t smell 2016!
The issue with the cobble effect on FoW infantry bases is that they are effectively ‘insert trays’ – but with the figures stuck in. So preparing the base before the figures are added means they need to be blended in when added. Doing an effect with then in place will be tricky – especially at that scale.
At that scale do you need the 3d effect or could you simply print a pattern onto an overlay?
As far as “The Other Side” is concerned… this is the scale picture you are looking for! (long link)
?w=639&fit=max&v=1481828413&auto=format&q=92&s=a30441d2a995ae2351d1da88f887d5a0
Yes, in the middle those are three Malifaux models for reference:
– Lilitu and another standard 30mm figure
– a Large Brutal Emissary
Boy those titans are … titanic!
Archangels’ Haven – you forgot to mention that it was also a tribute to Warren’s own little angels (the name works on more than one level).
@warzan your finding 2016 blue and 2017 orange is synesthesia. A couple of mates have it and it’s FASCINATING. Well worth a Google over your Christmas break.
@warzan lentils and rice can make good looking cobbles, dunno how that would look at 15mm
Also H0 scale model train stuff should look about in terms of scale, i.e. https://www.fruugo.co.uk/noch-44070-z-cobbles-self-adhesives/p-9550260-20160219?gclid=CjwKEAiA4dPCBRCM4dqhlv2R1R8SJABom9pHYgPrasStFdat4jwtrRzQriqMeVgGEAZwBwxWIFt-3hoCdn3w_wcB
For cobblestones you may easily use railroad model overlays (out of HIPS or paper) – 15 mm is essentially 1:100-1:120 scale which is roughly TT in railroads world(1:120).
Happy Weekend 🙂
Great show guys 🙂
“Well that’s another fine weekender you got me through @dignity!”

2016 is 5h1tty brown as far as I am concerned for a host of reasons BUT there were some good phases too (but nowhere near enough of them).
2017 looks like pure dysentery at the moment….
Happy weekend guys.
It’s an honour and a privilege to feed the Beast.
I know it’s been mentioned already but I heartily recommend the Noch cobbles for FOW. I’ve used them on a couple of terrain pieces along with pantiles. Both look great. Also @warzan, have you ever read any of the Culture novels by Iain M Banks? The Culture has had some of the best ship names, chosen by the ship’s Mind (really advanced AI). They include “Gunboat Diplomat”, “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, “Youthful Indiscretion”, “Kiss My Ass”, “It’ll be over by Christmas” and “Happy Idiot Talk” amongst and whole bunch of others. A couple of SpaceX’s drone ships are named… Read more »
Congratulations to all of the winners, once again another Boot Camp that I am terribly upset that I could not possibly be involved in, one day… One day it will happen, I will have the money and Ill make sure I travel there to be part of one of these. Couldnt be more in love with DropFleet (hence why Im part of a Podcast for it). The one piece PVC minis are the only worrying thing for me when it comes to The Otherside, but as far as the looks of it is concerned I am also in love with… Read more »
Awesome weekender. I’m still telling myself not to back The Other Side. Simply because I got to eat…I think… Food is neccesary, right? Warrens enthusiasm is very contagious, though. And those models look awesone.
Looking forward to tomorrows bacstage version.
I’m in for the Other Side (sorry Kingdom Death, though you’re doing well without me :))
Just a quick one, Abyssinia aren’t the tribal folklore Johnnies – they’re super high tech elite.
There’s a size comparison pics for the titans on the Kickstarter now and oh my they’re whoppers!
Shooty Brits or Gibbering, yet to decide.
@warzan just to add to your Other Side love, if you watch the gameplay videos, the gibbering hordes have “without number” Style faction rule. They essentially get to recycle destroyed units back onto the table, thus punishing less for losing units in aggressive play.
As far as live stuff goes, I still think Live 8 is the best content you have ever put out in term sof immediate entertainment. Part of that was the two way conversation, and of course the unpredictability.
Darrel as the sanguinor is still one of the funniest things on the internet.
Not sure how it would fit now with the weekenders, maybe a once a month live show would work and not add too much workload to the team?
Cracking show chaps. I don’t think i’ve ever seen @warzan happier around hobby / gaming stuff 😀 . If i was’nt up to my neck with my MB:P pledge, i agree with @dignity about the Kings Empire being my choice of faction also.
If I didn’t have so many projects on I’d be really tempted by the boot camp. Maybe later next year I’ll look to give FoW a go
@warzan
In you weren’t aware, the association of colours with numbers that you’re experiencing is called Synesthesia, in particular Grapheme-Color Synesthesia. It’s an interesting area of research from what i hear, not least of all for it’s implications for creativity and innovation. There’s a wikipedia entry of course: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia . ( This is not a diagnosis. )
