I love the vanquisher and tried to take one if I could but I mostly played against orks and space wolves without much armour in it.
For marines I went with the demolisher (nice against thunder wolves) or executioner.
For orks I went with the punisher or standard Leman Russ.
Can’t get enough Leman Russes! I own 5 at the moment but I’d really like to get another two and be able to field an all tank army! That’s how I always figured my IG army and it is now possible thanks to the Cadian Battle Group which appeared in the Damocles Gulf campaign book : Mont’Ka.
I’ve got five as well but after watching this I think I will need some more 😎
And I don’t even play 40k these days 😉
Great show as ever!
If only we could have a 40k Bootcamp when the new edition is coming out. I would be really interested to get back into it. After all I’ve got a huge IG army that is largely unpainted and waiting to get some love..
You can never have enough Tanks
40k boot camp. Sounds great if GW would join in.
Anyway I have to get me some more Leman russes for my IG.
Is it still fluff that the leman Russ chassis was the STC for a tractor and not a tank originally?
Book suggestions, my favourite 40k books with lots of tank action
Necropolis – gaunts ghosts, grismund(sp) is great even if his page time is limited.
Sabbat martyr – gaunts ghosts the Destroyer tank hunters get a lot of page time.
Gunheads – just tanks, tanks and more tanks nice read too
Wasn’t that the Rhino?
Ah, the heady days when my IG list was built around an Exterminator and Demolisher combo.
the T34 of 40K that just says it all.
Holy balls how I hate Pask’s guts!! My brother uses him with his Vanquisher and he’s an absolute Tank Killer. If he shoots something he gets a pen. hit every time. When used in tandem with some psychic nonsense the guy just doesn’t miss.
I haven’t had to face a Punisher yet but I know he has a stack of these unbuilt so no doubt one will turn up.
I’ve got about 20 and love each and every one. I do like the Annihilator variant though, because most opponents have never seen one before. That look of panic is always fun and they are great for killing small elite units or vehicles. They are always going to do some damage.
Thanks for another great charted episode. Love these as they go into that little bit more detail that all us 40k gamers like.
A very nice episode. I did not know there were so many variants.
I recently took a steel host list to a local tournament. I made a few silly mistakes as I was a little rusty having just moved house and not played in a while, but it performed very well.
I used Pask in a Punisher. He took out a blood thirster in turn one. Nuff Said! 🙂
