Darrell has a look at way that Tyranids can lock down a Dreadnought, or any other big model, when they can't really hurt it.

“Of course in the back. It’s only a pity he’s awake.”
Rimmer’s advise still stands true in the 41st(or 42nd) millennia.
A nice non-cheesy tactic 🙂
This tactic makes my Dreadnought cry. Seriously though, it works painfully well.
good wee video, sound tactic
on the flip side, you can tie up huge units of hormagaunts with a dread.
they also have assault weapons so you could charge in once/if the weapon is destroyed and whilst he’s held up that carnifex can come charging in?, wouldnt suggest fielding a carnifex mind but you could 🙂
But then he might just go for the win in combat res.
then you laugh ’cause they should be in synapse and so are fearless . Muhahaha !!
this is real “pain in the ass” …
I like fighting gaunts with the furioso and blood talens. Its fun
As a Sisters of Battle player I would laugh at this tactic with my Penitent Engines as they would be pretty much forced to flame and assault the gaunts (if they even survived the flaming) and then the PE would die to the Carnifex.
Most likely however is that the PE would simply get shot down before it could do anything.
But I would most definetely not let my Dread unsupported. And I haven’t seen many people that do..
