Pulcinella, Cult Slaves & The Doctor Of The Mind Come To Carnevale
November 29, 2016 by dracs
TTCombat are continuing with to expand upon their new take on the world of Carnevale with new concepts and renders for the strange city's occupants.
First, we have those familiar agents of chaos; the Pulcinella.
The Pulcinella delight in causing as much mayhem as they possibly can, donning their familiar masks and white outfits to go out into the city to beat up any unfortunate enough to cross their path. They were very popular in Carnevale's previous incarnation and this new design certainly holds a lot of that mad-cap energy.
Following him, we have one of the Slaves of the Cult of Dagon.
The model design here is pretty good, keeping to a lot of the pulpy style of Carnevale and really capturing the wretched existence of being one of the Cult of Dagon's canon fodder.
Finally, we come to a new member of staff at the Ospedale; a Doctor of the Mind.
The Doctor of the Mind may well be the most sinister character to have come out of the Ospedale. The mask makes them utterly alien, while the grand cut of their clothing sets them apart from the more usual plague doctor. It's definitely a miniature I am looking forward to seeing on the tabletop, leading the mad in their quest for power.
Which of the new Carnevale designs is your favourite?

I like the doctor the most from the releases this month.
The Ospedale figure looks stunning. I’m still waiting to see what TT Combat do with Home Raiders but the Carnevale stuff is very tempting. If they can sort out a decent terrain pack this could be a winner.
Did TT pick up Home Raiders as well? I thought it was just Carnevale. And terrain was always a bit of a barrier to entry for me. I have plenty of the minis but could never see myself getting around to scratch-building a Venetian themed table. TT have talked about opening up the universe a bit though. The option that seems to be most popular at the moment is some kind of portal system that can be used to access other pats of the world. That sounds great as it offers the opportunity to utilise a board that could work… Read more »
Yes they did:

I’ve not heard anything on their plans for the game yet though.
I haven’t read the rules for Carnevale so I don’t know how limiting the setting is terrain-wise. As you say it shouldn’t be too difficult to branch out a bit.
What holds you back to do this with any table you like? Does not have to be written in any book to make it what you want – just go for it and have fun! The one point that adds to the fun in carnevale is different hight levels…but you can get that from a lot of different buildings.
@seldon9 Glad to hear HR has a future of some kind. I have the starter box and I was wondering if it’d ever see proper use. I’d imagine TT will do quite a bit of work with that though. Carnevale is essentially a re-skin but HR has loads of room for new factions. And I don’t know if the rules were very dependent on terrain but I’m just a bit of a stickler for my board matching the setting. Just a personal thing. And I’ve so many games knocking around I don’t have time for DIY, I need stuff to… Read more »
@irredeemable I got the starter and the Lords of Dust for Home Raiders. The other factions didn’t really do it for me. I’m with you on getting terrain ready made. I just don’t have the time to scratch build. Wish I did @soulsorceror. You can see why Home Raiders appealed so much to me.
