Thank you for doing this!
Thanks for this video. The close combat seems so brutal.
Great video! Games looks awesome. But why do “lower than” rolls? I’ll have to flip my brain around to play. That being said, the mechanics work. They seem simple, tactical, and most of all fun.
Thanks for the video, I will definitely start playing Antares next year.
I like Warlord, I love their rules systems. But there are two things that I wish were different on GoA, especially if you’re trying to entice people away from 40k or Warpath. – Their paint jobs and color choices for the ‘flagship’ team, Concord, are not interesting enough. Green and Cream? The drone (from the demo game) has had a lot of work put into it, but in the end it just looks like a gradient. Blocks of detail and interest! Red lenses don’t count. Good timing as a friend is wanting me to take this game up and it’s also Warfare this weekend and Warlord are attending. Looks like I may be paying them a visit to see what’s on offer.
I had my first game of this today, and really enjoyed it. Having seen this video beforehand was really useful. Rolling low did seem odd at first but quickly got used to it. The pinning mechanics are really what sets this apart from other games, and it feels balanced just right – not too heavy handed.
Getting a feel for factions that aren’t carbon copies from another game or stock fantasy/sci-fi options can unfortunately be a real stumbling block for new games, but worthwhile in the end.
Hopefully BoW have another video on file showing the full rules (the video above seems very like a Bolt Action game). With the full rules featuring things like reactions, variable fire modes and ammo types, full size squads, the game feels very different to what was shown here.
Good starter video, but really needs a followup to show off the full game 🙂
I’m fairly sure there’s a full on demo game of Antares already done by BOW, shouldn’t be too hard to find.
But yeah, I think they should have stressed a little more that this is a cut down “intro” game that doesn’t use the full ruleset.
Yeah there was, it’s here:

Looks like a great game….and the table is really looking great!!!
Thank you for doing this …dabbled in Antares back when the campaign was on and enjoyed it.
This is a great game system with a colourful background and real potential. Iloved the video I would like to humbly request “More please” . Cheers team
