Fly High With Icarus & Orion For Mythic Battles: Pantheon
November 14, 2016 by brennon
Joining the collection of impressive models for Mythic Games' Mythic Battles: Pantheon we have both Icarus and Orion as the 'new' members of the team...
Icarus is the famous fellow who flew too close to the sun and had his wings melted!
This version of Icarus who has returned from the Underworld has now learned his lesson and perfected his wings to make him more agile than ever.
Being able to use Evasion for free means that he'll be able to flit across the board with ease and get to where he needs to be.
The Hunter
Orion is a mighty warrior with almost God-like statistics and an Art of War card too to help with your tactics.
He stands quite tall compared to one of their regular miniatures too, pointing out his target and ready to get stuck into butchers work.
With the ability to play around with the effect of his dice against monsters, and Tracking acting as a bit of control on the battlefield he could well be a good addition to any side.
What do you think of the newest additions to the Mythic Battles: Pantheon collection?
Let us know below!

This is getting better every day..can’t wait to see where they gonna be next week.
It’s interesting to see units that can’t attack in games like this.
However isn’t Icarus supposed to fall after flying too high ? 😉
Lol he’s used supper glue this time?
You’d think he wouldn’t make the same mistake twice 😉
These are, after all, heroes resurrected. Daedalus didn’t die then, he died an older man and did many more things, so it makes sense to have Icarus as the flying guy of the lot.
Those are very nice.
great figures.
I am so torn with this project. I am bsolutely in love with the game mechanics and the setting (as an avid fan of Homeric stories and the likes). And they do have some quite great and some pretty good miniatures.
But at the same time they have a whole bunch of pieces of shockingly lower quality and standards and even still less so. And that is regarding concept, design and actual sculpt. Embarrassing, really.
Yes, Icarus isn’t the best of the bunch, and this is not at all how I saw Orion (he supposedly has a bow). The majority of the figures is still magnificent, though.
@elromanozo Odysseus travels into the underworld in Book 11 of The Odyssey and sees many famous people, including Orion, whom he describes as a giant armed with a bronze club. Earlier in the same book he sees the giants Otus and Ephialtes. Homer says they were only surpassed in renown by Orion, and possibly also only surpassed in size by Orion. It depends on whether you read everything from ‘kai pollu’ as separate from what went before or a continuation of it. Even if you’re not meant to read it as Orion being larger than them, only more renowned, he… Read more »
with a big club lol
Yes, but I imagined it more tall than brutish… Still, great figure.
I really like a lot of the figures they are putting out. I especially like some of the early concepts they have already redone. Seeing the initial Artemis didn’t make me happy but the second version is much better. The models they showed on the weekender looked great. I just got my box of Conan and the models are exactly as advertised. I couldn’t be happier with this company and have backed this kickstarter. December 2017 cant get here soon enough!
Artemis may well be better, but echidna is hilariously bad now with the terrible bra they added to her. She now looks 10 times worse than Artemis did.
Awesome stuff. I’m still tinkering with the idea of introducing the gods into an ancient mass combat game.
BOW are responsible for the desolation of my wallet… all these great games they show us. I really like the setting and the mechanics and as for the minis – I rate them highly as they are board game pieces, ready asembled and some of them are simply magnificent. One can only shudder to think what certain nameless companies would charge for the equivalent. I am backing the KS and enjoying Leo’s KS Live sessions – he is an absolute star! And Jake Thornton (Quirkworthy aka The Voice of Olympus) is equally fantastic for the job he has done on… Read more »
More gods, Trojan war add-on, Leo doing KS Live broadcasts with Q&A every other night – frankly this is the best KS so far.
