Face Thundering Cavalry & Cannons In By Fire & Sword This Month
November 1, 2016 by brennon
By Fire & Sword welcomes some new model releases this month for a range of different factions. First up we're looking at what's on the way for the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth...
Here we have the Polish Cossack Cavalry who could be armed with all manner of different weapons to fulfill different battlefield roles. In this case, they have rohatyna spears making them effective shock troops to use in battle.
Next up we're moving to something more explosive and the Imperial Light Artillery.
Here you get three cannons alongside their crew allowing you to lay down some covering fire as your soldiers march forward (or retreat!).
We're back to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth again as we take a look at the Pancerni Cavalry.
This name followed the Cossacks who were armoured up to make them heavy cavalry. Most notably they wore chainmail as you can see above giving them a bit more staying power when they thundered into the enemy formation.
The Transylvanians aren't to be left out of this artillery race however as they also have a Medium Artillery piece to bring to battle.
Here you have a 10pdr cannon allowing you to blow a bigger hole in the enemy line or some fortification they have rigged up. I like seeing the cannons placed in these more permanent defences too adding to the battlefield scenery.
Last but not least we have a selection of Special Miniatures for use in scenarios.
In this set, you get a Peasant Informer, Messenger (shown on horse) and a Captive, some poor fool who gets dragged around by the enemy. Each of these would be great for adding a bit more narrative to your battles.
What do you think of their new releases?

Very nice. Those make me want to make Polish army and then get some Winged Hussars for it as well so that they can arrive.
