Contents Of The Horus Heresy: Burning Of Prospero Detailed!
October 14, 2016 by brennon
A leak has shown off what the contents of the new The Horus Heresy: Burning Of Prospero set will be from Games Workshop. For fans of Betrayal At Calth this will follow a similar format with some fancy new plastic miniatures in the mix.
You can find the image HERE showing off the full contents. But, we'll give you a run down of what's in the box too. Inside you're going to get...
- Geigor Fell-Hand (Space Wolves)
- Ahzek Ahriman (Thousand Sons)
- 5x Tartaros Terminators
- 30x Legion Veterans
- 5x Custodian Guard
- 5x Sisters of Silence
You will also get all the bits and pieces you need to play out games too including the game boards, cards for the different troops, dice, a rulebook and a background book too.
This looks like it's going to be a rather special set, just like with Betrayal At Calth but with the added focus towards more dynamic and characterful Legions. Also, the addition of Custodian Guar and Sisters of Silence should get anyone excited.
All of the plastic models from Betrayal At Calth eventually arrived in boxed form so I would be prepared for these to be available in the near future too!
Personally, I'm excited to see what they do with Sisters of Battle!
What do you think of the new set?

Plastic Mk3 marines? I don’t know if this was known before but that will be good news for a lot of people.
Repeating my comment from the forum thread. I’m assuming the image is from a trade magazine of some sort given the way the copy is trying to sell it. Interesting to see them pushing at as boardgame and highlighting how much is saved as opposed to buying the miniatures individually.
As I said on your FB post – I’m cursing GW for releasing this now as I’m torn between using this to start refreshing my Thousand Sons army and starting a Genestealer Cult. *shakes fist*
no contest…. Space Wolves 😉 😉
Bloody mangy, fleeridden puppies *grumblegrumblegrumble*
😉
for the Allfather and Russ!!!!! down with the poncy wizards and traitors &$*(*%(£)^£!!! 😉 still gonna get and build em though, shiny shiny
Frigging hypocrites with your Rune Priests and backwards barbarian ways
😉
Why not both, cash aside
Space to store it all, time/energy to paint/convert, etc. Probably still would do both if I had the cash though. Unfortunately I’m too attached to my kidneys to flog one to afford it so the issue is moot.
Looks quite nice and at what looks to be a quite decent price (for GW standards anyway).
Should be interesting to see how much of an actual stand-alone game this truly is, haven’t heard a lot of boardgamers who got review copies for Calth being positive about it. Regardless even for just the Marines and Terminators it would be worth it cost wise for 30K/40K players.
May have to keep an eye on Ebay for a set of Sisters of Silence, the look like a great ‘just for fun’ hobby project!
Hello everybody! I tend to avoid forums but after seeing how friendly and polite everyone here is I thought I’d dip my toe in! I think one of the most surprising things about this box is what appears to be the inclusion of D8, 10 and 12’s. I think I have every boxed game GW has produced since Gorkamorka (Except execution force) and I can’t think of any that have anything other than D6
Welcome :). The rebooted Blood Bowl has its usual D8 but also a D16 too, so perhaps this is a sign GW are embraching polyhedonism!
It is the true path 😉
Polyhedonism? I hope that’s a typo for polyhedronism, and not that you think GW is having multiple orgies at once. 0.0
;p
Twas just a pun 🙂
God help us all!
Limiting themselves to a D6 was a massive mistake so good news
That’s a shedload of stuff for £95! Bargain!
Sold! 😎
Woo, plastic Tartaros and mk3 armour is awesome. Loving the Custodes and Sisters too but won’t be using them much with Alpha Legion. 🙁
Or will you?
I’m in.
I can see only one issue, going to be tempted to start of loyalist legion to go with Custodes and sisters
So awesome! Finally us Thousand Sons fans are getting what we need to beat down those mangy hypocrite lap dogs of the Emperor on the tabletop. I’m def going to have to get 2 of these to go along with my 2 Calth boxes. I really hope the Prospero Forge World book won’t be two far behind so I can start my 30k Horus Heresy Thousand Sons army. Also I think its great that we aren’t just getting 30k Thousand Sons but we are getting Daemon Magnus and Rubric marines. Its going to hurt my wallet but I don’t care… Read more »
The Prospero book is February at the earliest.
@dags
My thought exactly..
Solution..two boxes!
@suetoniuspaullinus maybe think of keeping my Sons of Horus with the older armour and more modern such as Tartaros for Imperial fists. Although Mk3 looks good for fists.
Oooh! Hello!
I’ll definitely be getting this! 😀
Anyone know when this is being released?
Not confirmed, I’d guess pre-order next weekend, but definately before end of November
I think that there will be an article in the White Dwarf of November. Like dags said it will probably be out before then.
i believe pre-order is on the 22nd october, so should be getting these teh week after
So thirty space Marines for my alpha legion army (mk 3 but still) 5 termies for the alphas 5 custodes that look very tempting to convert and 5 sisters (which may end up in my sister’s of battle army as Sergeants) I’m sold… Anyone need a Bjorn or Ahriman?

Would it be viable to buy this + calth to make a decent sized 30k SW faction?
I’d think so. I think the intention is for you to buy both rather than this instead of B@C. Not that the MkIII guys are called ‘Legion Veterans’ in the leaked pic, so I think the intention is that you use the B@C MkIV as your rank and file and these as your vets
cheers, do you happen to know roughly how many points it would give me if i combined the two?
Don’t have one of the HH books so can’t tell how many points it’d be, sorry.
@bcup With out digging out books I think you can get about 1000 points from calth with certain builds. Add this assuming not using sisters or custodes then 1500 should be easy.
That is stretching it. The mk iv BaC marines where also Veterans.
My brother and I love this. He likes the Wolves, I like the Sons, only problem is how will I get the Custodes in my force.
That seems really good.
I’ve been waiting for this and the pics don’t disappoint. No doubt White Dwarf will have rules for using the units in 40k. I still have an unpainted BaC so I’ll have the makings of a decent force.
@dags
Sounds like a plan!
The MKIII dudes going definitely to join my Sons of Horus 😎
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GW …….NOT in the month I promised to have the bedrooms recarpeted……..(composes himself ) ….. (to family) “So, has everyone heard about the new beans on toast diet???” I think it will be good for us and save money too” …honest …
looks like a great box.
not read the book yet but was a great plan to get these two chapters to kill each other as he was planning his attack on earth along with the true leaders the word bearers attacking Ultramar.
I actually just finished Prosperous Burns and while I wasn’t that impressed by it I am happy to see this explored on the tabletop.
@dracs have you read a thousand sons? The two benefit from seeing the other side if that makes sense
So glad for sisters of silence. I want a small army of them especially, but like the rest too. I wonder if they will bring a new HH starter set out every year.
Well, they certainly have enough books to base the box sets on. Maybe after they get enough chapters out on the market, they could revive the epic summer campaigns.
A “Massacre on Isstvan IV” global summer event would be amazing!
may be a great BOW weekender bootcamp?
They seem to be using them to launch different Mk’s of power armour kits, so maybe one for MkV still to come?
