The Fimirarch Noble Leads His Kin Into Battle For Age Of Sigmar
October 8, 2016 by brennon
The Fimirarch Noble has now been released by Forge World for use in your games of Age of Sigmar. Will you be picking one of these up?
"As with other Fimir warriors, Fimirach Nobles are armoured with plates of spell-forged bronze fitted to their hunchbacked bodies and wield Baleglyph weapons in combat, either in the shape of great double-handed mauls, or single-handed maces and curving hatchets, held one in each hand.
Each also has a formidable weapon in its muscular tail which ends in a natural bone club with which it can smash any foes who get in close with bone-breaking force."
The Fimir have been a part of the world of Warhammer for a long time and it's nice to see them reemerging for the world of Age of Sigmar.
You can actually download for the rules for these particular warriors HERE. I love the painting that has gone into this model. The strange alien skin meshes nicely with the strange armour that has a magical quality to it.
What do you think?

I wonder if they’re going to retcon the Fimir’s unusual reproductive habits….
While I love the model my comment was going to touch on background, given Slaanesh seems to be being given the quiet treatment the Fimir are interesting choice to return as the background doesn’t get much darker or nastier than these guys.
Mind you, these models are coming from Forge World and will probably be supported by Forge World books. Forge World also have a rather more grown up reputation so it’s possible nothing will get retconned. I’m only speculating of course.
I am unsure as to what they are…
Link?
@caladors basic summary there the warpstone special went into a lot more of the darker aspects while trying to tackle the unpleasant subject matter in a non-ghoulish manner. Very much of the creatures of nightmares https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fimir
Thanks @dags I read that and a whole lot more last night. I would say that they are trying to be as true as they can to them with the flesh cloak.
Who painted this? It is much better than the usual flat, uninteresting painting you see in White Dwarf and what not. This presents a much higher dynamic range and use of color and tone than the regular stuff.
Forgeword – they usually paint to a much higher standard than the Eavy Metal studio.
I have this particular model and I have to say it is quite nice.
It is quite crisp and very large, very large, I think a lot of people will underestimate that, his bigger than a storm cast eternal!
How big is the base?
50mm
That’s quite a sizeable miniature. I might get one.

May pick up this guy and some of his brethren to go with my Nurgle army. Always loved the Fimir as they truly are the dark sinister species to end all other dark sinister species.
For a moment I couldn’t make out the face, I thought it had a vale over it 😛
Wow… Fimirs! That brings me back! Way down to my Hero Quests and WFRP days!
This takes me back to my warhammer fantasy role play sessions. The model looks great, does anyone know which faction (for want of a better term) the Fimir are part of within Age of Sigmar? These might be the the chaps to bring me into the game. They always were a particular favorite.
Part of the “Destruction” faction according to Forgeworld, which is interesting as it puts them in the camp of Ogres, Orcs and Goblins, rather than anything Chaos related…
I always had them pinned as a form of Greenskin
That’s interesting, I always imagined them to be a little more scorcerous; something of the formorian about them. Anyway, thanks for the clarification. Now I’m thinking of some Celtic themed Orruks with some Fimir and possibly a giant…
There is something sorcerous about them on their Wikipedia page.

I think the reason I always thought that they were greenskins is because in Heroquest they were cast in the same colour plastic as the Orcs and Goblins. No other reason really.
Yeah odd as originally (in wfb/wfrp) they were deamonic.
Back in those heady days when nothing was really defined and for me (because I was like, 10) didn’t matter. There were heroes and gribblies and nothing in between.
Only just noticed that. Was hoping they’d make nice allies for my Nurgle forces.
Oh well, been looking for an excuse to get the “Sons of Behemat” and these would make a fine addition to them.
Yeah, think a retcon would be a good idea.
I’m sure that it will get ret-conned. Or more likely they just won’t go into detail about how they procreate; afterall it’s a wargame not a biology lesson, I don’t need to know about the specifics of the birds and the bees to field any given unit
Very nice. It’s nice to see Fimirs back.
nice as others are saying the only other’s I have are in Hero Quest.
Turns out it’s not just the noble that is available. Fimir are available as a complete unit.

And smaller bundles if you dont want that amount of models or have limited funds:

id always imagined they were a benevolent race of creature – i can only assume i got this idea as they visually reminded me of the ur-ru mystics from dark crystal. after reading up on them it seems i was quite wrong!
Still one of my favourite films, yeah they make the Skekkies seem nice.
£25? No thanks.
£25 in Australian prices is an absolute bargain, might buy an army of them. 🙂
We have such different views in Australia when it comes to minis ha ha.
