Ruddy pointed eared princelings! Should all be grobi bait, damn pale skinned oath breakers!
Nice video though lol, good to see the scale between miniatures and just whats on offer. Also, if the models will make good proxies of course.
Orcs/Orks would be nice to see actually, get into the different looks of them.
Don’t know if you’ve got them to hand, but Foundry also do Elves that are more like the GW one with flowing robes and armour.
I’d also second the Orcs comparison: GW, Mantic, Foundry, and so on. The usual suspects.
Finally, for all of these comparisons, it’d be nice to see Rackham ones too, even through they aren’t readily available (yet).
huge monkey arms 😛 haha, spot on
Those arms and hands are truly quite horrendous but we should remember that the sculpt on the high elf in question is quite old. In fact most of that generation of GW models (around 1998-2000) had quite large hands, be they skaven, dwarves, elves, goblins or whatnot. I suspect it had to do with manufacturing and molding restrictions more than anything else and more modern sculpts usually has far better hands and overall proportions. A note on the Warmachine model; Privateer Press claims that they make 30 mm models, not 28 mm. Scale wise that doesn’t mean too much, about… Read more »
Id really like to see a 28mm dwarf comparison next!
Already has been a Dwarf comparison @hatamoto – should be on the side bar to the left 🙂
@hatamoto – I already filmed one here:

I missed a few like Privateer Press and Rackham, I’ll do another one soon with those in it.
ah alright, i completely missed that … how about a 28mm sci-fi bog standard trooper comparison then? 😛
I love seeing proxy models used in WFB armies. Maybe you could include something from Avatars of War or Gamezone in future comparisons. Keep up the good work.
Yeah I’d like to see some Hasslefree / Heresy minis in there too – on the scale side of things, I’m always thrown by how ‘dainty’ the Hasslefree stuff is!
Also, once we’ve had the (almost inevitable) human and orc scale comparison, I’d really love to see a “Power Armour Scale Comparison” .. so maybe an Infinity TAG, a TAU Crisis Suit, Dust Tactics (or AT-43) power armour, the new Firebrand powersuit and perhaps the ZandrisIV “Bouncer” battlesuit!
I really like the mantic elves a lot. I know people criticize their modeling, but i think they did a good job. The reason being when you look at a model, aside from its armor design, i like being able to instantly tell right away that its an elf by its shape and overall design, and mantic has the right idea on making them that lithe. The GW LotR elf can easily pass as a human if you dont know any better. And the GW WHFB elf is only recognized as an elf because of his armor. A little on… Read more »
Can we have a medieval human comparison? Such as Perry, GW, and War Games.
I would love to see a comparison for sci fi humans, something like imperial guard, void minis, warzone, wargames factory etc
I think something to keep in mind with the LotR elves, is they are sculpts based off of the films, which had humans acting as elves. I think the Mantic models most closely resemble the general idea of light, nimble elves, whilst staying in scale.
