Fight Julius Caesar’s Campaigns With New Warlord Supplement

Age Of Caesar is a new supplement coming to Warlord Games' Hail Caesar allowing you to follow in the footsteps of probably the most well-known Emperor in Rome's history.
This book allows you to follow in the footsteps of Gaius Julius Caesar and fight out some of the key battles that defined his position as a General and a leader. The armies of Rome will also become a key focus throughout the book and you'll learn more about their makeup too.
Leading the way you could get your hands on this pre-order model with Optio Maximus Gluteus.
Here you can see him commanding his men to march forth into battle. He looks exceptionally characterful with the feathers and plume on his helm and a heroic pose.
It's interesting to see him wearing chainmail as well which I imagine was a key feature of the Roman armies fighting during the period of Julius Caesar's rule.

We have Gauls and obviously some Romans but I’d like to see more as I indeed think this is a fantastic period to game with conquests, civil war, revolts going on all over the show!

I’ve spotted your deliberate mistake (other than incorrectly capitalising ’emperor’). Gaius Julius Caesar was never emperor of Rome. His grand-nephew and adopted son was the first Roman emperor.
Although, as said grand-nephew changed his name to Gaius Julius Caesar after he was adopted, then I suppose what I wrote is not strictly speaking true lol
Well I’m sure he means THE Caesar and not so unknown nephew of his.
Also, he was a leader of Roman empire for an 1 month(!) until he was backstabbed quite literally as the senate wasn’t that happy with him. For some reason most forgot that part.
My pick for the greatest Roman emperor is either Augustus or Constantine, easily.
Augustus is the grand-nephew and adopted son, so he’s hardly unknown. He was born Giaus Octavius, changed his name to Gaius Julius Caesar after he was adopted, and added Augustus and Princeps as titles in the First Augustan Settlement. Augustus was the first Roman emperor, he created the position in the settlements of 27 and 23 BCE. Ah sorry, Roman emperors aren’t my strongest suit as there so many of them and they got bit hard to remember names.
Also, Imperial period is bit comblicated by the emperors alone.
Love the figure, and I loved the series Rome…so I guess I will be buying it at some point!
Have always had a soft spot for Vespasian.,and had the distinction of being the first emperor go be succeeded by his natural offspring
Having the heir and the spare already was a big reason he got the top job. That and threatening to starve Rome lol. There wasn’t another until Marcus Aurelius, and in both cases their children were the last of the dynasty. The Principate tended to run better on hand-picked successors.
My favourite emperor is Marcus Aurelius, philosopher and philanthropist. Good man 😎

Nero wanted to invade Meroe (Sub-Saharan Africa) – he could have been as great as Trajan 🙁
…what about Julius Caesar’s plans to conquer Parthia and smash the Scythians? – It would be great if Warlord included a few ‘what if’ scenarios.
Nero seems to have been a very popular emperor, just not with the Senate and they were the ones writing the books.

Well as I think that the supplements that Warlord have been putting out have been getting better as they go I have gone and pre-ordered this one. The only supplements that I haven’t picked up are the 2 dealing with the Napoleonic Wars as I just have no interest in playing that period. Other than the 2 mentioned I have every other one for HC, PS, BP, BA and GA. I have only been disappointed in one of them. It was one of the early ones, Last Argument of Kings.
The figure looks good and didn’t hurt my decision at all.
