Grimm Fairytale Moonstone Takes To Kickstarter October 17th
September 29, 2016 by deltagamegirl22
I have been following this project ever since spying the spectacular Goblin Firespitter model on Kickstarter back in June...
...and they are finally ready to take the full game for Moonstone to Kickstarter on October 17th!
Moonstone is a 32mm Grimm fairytale skirmish miniature game that plays with a poker-type card mechanic, with some of the most whimsical and lovely fantasy characters that I have seen in a long time.
Moonstone also has been working with some amazing artists and sculptors to breathe life into some very endearing factions for this fantastical world.
The factions will include many of you favorite fantasy races including Humans (of course), Goblins, Gnomes and perhaps my favorite - Faeries! I cannot get wait to get a hold of these to paint them up and see how they play.
After having the opportunity to see the Goblin Firespitter miniature up close, I have no doubts that these minis will be fantastic quality and retain all the lovely details from their artwork that I've fallen in love with.
Which faction will you be seeking in the whimsical world of Moonstone?
Let us know in the comments below!

Faeris look gorgeous !
This project is promising ! Do you know if we can find a ruleset somewhere ?
Have a look at the Moonstone Facebook page.
This does look nice … i like the options we get these days
These are lovely. They have a bit of Changeling vibe to them. With Mythic Battles and Relic Knights on the KS horizon (as well as no income) I’ll probably have to pass on this, but will be keeping an eye on it.
Quirky… but in a nice way ! 🙂
faeries, yes please.
the competition out there is so hot right now but this just smashed its way right into contention.
really excited to see were this goes.
Backed the Firespitter as a painting project. Haven’t looked at the rules yet but I’ll give them a glance when I get a free moment. There’s only so many games I can ever expect to have the time to paint and play so long hard thinking has to be done before I back anything. Especially as this launches shortly after the Purgatory KS.
Well, I loooked at the rules on Wargame Vault and it’s very good ! Kinda refreashing with a “draft mode” game, the possibility to play between 2 to 4 players without adding rules or a diffrent mission, etc …
I’m going to promote that KS on french forums, not sure if I’ll pledge but definitly going to support the project in on way or an other !
love the ‘Brian Froud’ style of these pieces 🙂
This looks decidedly intriguing. The art is beautiful, if there is the opportunity to acquire prints during the kickstarter, I’ll definitely be backing this one.
This is much more interesting to me now there’s a game involved.
i just had a look and the model count is low. looks like you will be able to jump in without breaking the bank or taking on too heavy a painting commitment.
definitely got some interesting mechanics.
the whole thing just oozes magic, real fairy tale fantasy.
It reminds me of my childhood watching fantasy movies. It has a Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Legend vibe with them.
Very fantastical models and the rules look pretty interesting.
This KS has got my attention!
If all that art can be captured by the sculptors and created with superb quality then this will be an amazing line.
Seriously interested in this.
