Cadwallon Sculpts Up Frothing Vikings For A Tabletop Raid
September 15, 2016 by brennon
The tabletop gaming world's obsession with Vikings is yet to abate (woot!) and you can tell us what you think of these Viking Barbarians who are ready for a raid from Cadwallon.
Leading the attack from the longships is the howling Torbjorn with twin axes in hand and a big wolf pelt around his shoulders. I like the stance as he's yelling to the Gods above although the facial details do appear a little flat.
Following him close behind we have the Berserkers.
Shown with a variety of weapons they are posed as they start to get stuck into combat. The figure on the left who is ducking below the blow of an enemy is my favourite I think. Their leader with axe and sword also looks rather heroic although the pose is very static.
Finishing things off we have those brave enough to follow these howling barbarians into battle. See what you make of this warband of Hirdmen.
They come with a range of spears and axes as well as the terrifying daneaxe for smashing through shieldwalls. You also get the mystical character on the far left with his staff. Maybe he was the one who led these Vikings on their quest and set them upon the enemies of the Gods?
Whatever narrative you conjure up this isn't a bad little collection of miniatures cast in resin. I must admit I was somewhat wary of the 'Cadwallon' tag for this miniature store. Do any of you in the community have experience with them?
What do you think of these Vikings?

Hmm interesting. Not keen on the Berserkers tbh but the others look rather nice 😎
I have always been happy with Cadwallon’s work. Good stuff.
I like them but am not sure there is just a something that does not sit well, having said that I would more than likely see these among our lot.
Those are very nice.
they will look great in a unit.
curious, what’s the scale?
Some of them look nice.
I’ve dealt with them often and they are always absolutely awesome. I’ve never had a problem with doing any business with them, and my orders have always been a few hundred bucks. The communication was phenomenal, and the shipping was prompt. If you’re worried about doing business with them, don’t be – I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as I was.
They may have an excellent customer support but a large part this business is based on recasting and IP rip off. There’s a reason why you will never see them advertised on TGN for example and a reason why their prices are so low even compared to other european web shops.
And I want to emphasize that their recasting isn’t limited to former Rackham products.
Meh. Their product is still amazing. I own a lot of original confrontation models, and so far I haven’t been able to tell the difference between the two. When it comes to the player, they can decide what they want to order, but a lot of original confrontation players got left in a lurch with incomplete armies when rackham went out of business. Thanks to a great company like Cadwallon, I was able to complete my collection… and start another. 🙂
