Very nice – good model and a really well done paint job. Simple but effective and makes a very characterful little beastie.
Would be great to see you do a GW Vampire Counts Skeleton.
very nice
I always was interested is seeing you paint tartan or plad for kilts and lumberjack vests.
Duly noted, @manpug …
But all in good time. Be patient !
Also, thank you @deadhead and @brennon for your nice words…
I don’t like the modern GW skeletons, they’re so cartoony… They used to do beautiful things, very fine plastic skeletons with maximum posability (they had ball joints for all arms and heads) on ivory colored sprues…
We’ll see if I do a “bones” tutorial, and with what mini.
BoW Romain
Really? I always thought the old ones looked cartoony and the new ones had a more horror/gothic look to them – well, the Vampire Count ones anyway.
Would be great to see a bone painting video.
After looking at more pictures, I’ll admit the current skeleton forces from GW are interesting… But no more than the (admittedly very) old Citadel plastic skeleton from way back when, circa 4th edition Warhammer Fantasy…
Oh boy, I just found out what it feels like to get old.
All right, I’ll see what I can do with a mini people can actually buy… There are some nice ones around.
BoW Romain
One other thing not about this video but about all your videos. I can without a doubt say that they have added to my range of painting skills. From knowing what brush to get and how to take care of it, to doing cloth, shades and highlights. All have taken me beyond where I was before watching and reading you posts.
Last is I hope you had a chance to see my painted minis in the fantasy minirama section. They are the Jade warriors from Alkemy. You can see many of you tips at work on them.
Nice freehand on those Alkemy minis, @manpug !
A little more care in your blending and you’ll be there…
I also like your Aztec drawing, although I don’t know what it’s doing in Minirama…
Oh well, why not…
BoW Romain
the Aztec drawing was just a test to see if I could post on the minirama. It looked rather good to me that I just left it on 😛
Love the paint job. In practical terms, however, I’ve found that Mantic Minis need to go through an army painter dip…not because they have so many fine details….but because I have so many of them that I’d still be at it in 2025.
I was getting very worried there. It took till 10:59 for Romain to get the Royal Navy Brown out.
Why you… I ought to…
I’ll show you ! I’ll paint a whole miniature without Hull Red… One day. Probably.
BoW Romain
Nice, those sort of techniques would look really awesome on my flying polyps and shoggoths!
Kinda prefer softer details myself, ultra-sharp stuff like GW’s stuff never sat well with me personally, so I like the detail style on that miniature 🙂
I’d love to see how you would tackle a vampires pallid flesh, but then I would love to see you BoW guys do an entire week on vampire counts hehe
