January 7, 2017 by dignity
Today we're opening up and playing Terminator Genisys: The Miniatures Game with special guest, Alessio Cavatore.
"He may be old, but he's not obsolete."
Nah we're not talking about Justin, don't worry! Today the guys are playing Terminator Genisys from River Horse Games. Joined by the games master himself, Alessio Cavatore. John is playing the last Resistance to fight against the fearsome Justin and his almost indestructible Terminators.
Does John have what it takes to save the human race? Will Justin have mercy or is he as cold blooded as the hard wired machines & will Alessio have some mad scientist moves up his sleeves? Find out in this awesome Let's Play game.
We'll be back!

Okay, haven’t watched the video yet – but just the @johnlyons terminator image is friggin’ priceless. Another graphic design WIN!!! 🙂
yep, that’s yet another great fictional portrait photoshop thingy.
I wonder if we can get them to do that to you as a MechWarrior given your current article series … lol
I like @johnlyon ‘s angle that “this was all our tech to begin with, we’re just taking it back.”
Sorry, @dignity . . . we’ve decided that after all that’s happened, SkyNet’s “safety record” is less than satisfactory. Consider this a “product recall.” 😀
Lawyers are blaming a glitch in a supply chain.
(A nuke taking out the factory) and the city around it.
Right, @zorg ? That whole “Judgement Day” thing . . . kind of an embarrassing blemish on our product safety record. We may need to release a software patch, free to download on our website. 😀
to help the teminators locate new workers or insurgents.
John looks great as a T-800. Very Jason Statham
This is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about me 😛
49:20 – classic. 😀
I’m a huge fan of this game, it’s very under-rated. Been looking forward to this battle report for ages, will get stuck in once the wean is in bed!
See, I knew it. How emotionless John is and his love for big hunks of metal, he IS a machine. He just had to have a shaving mishap to prove it. Infiltrator, infiltrator!
Enjoyed the game but the Fate die blended with the terrain mat a little too much. Is it possible, in the future, to have dice rolls in a tray viewed by a inset camera?
Really loving the lets play videos…. must better then a cheap horror film night in…!!!! keep it up guys………..
I’m not a big Terminator fan (Yes, you may be shocked), but the game looks very entertaining. Easy enough to learn, but with a lot of cinematic potential.
Alessio always writes tight rules,( I loved his Lord of rings game) and he is a nice bloke with it. Thanks again lads
Well that looked fun, between the awesome PhotoShop work, the ridiculous trick shots from the grenade launchers and John Connor surviving that much plasma, also I think SkyNet may need to review its quality assurance procedures, all in all, a damn good looking game keep the Let’s plays coming.
love the mechanic of a fixed target roll, but the dice change to affect probability. great cinematic style too with rules themed to the franchise. great stuff! 🙂
some interesting mechanics
Skynet should of made a sexy terminator and sent it after a hormonal teenage john connor, dead inside a week.
was that not the idea behind the sarah connor chronicles..? summer glau as a T-900 oooft! 😉
An epic game full of nice twists 🙂 Good job guys 🙂
John looks so mean
love the table guys games looking great as well.
I have seen those defences before, but I can’t remember who makes them.
Does anyone know who makes or sells them?
A Narrative campaign is the way to go with this game. Can’t wait to see the next battle.
Enjoyed watching the game and seeing more content like this in the show as a whole, that and the new interaction with the community on the weekenders has really added to BoW im my opinion. I felt the Apache was underused in the scenario and should have been releasing 30mm until the muzzle break glowed red 🙂 This is the first time I have seen the game played so it was good to get an idea of a lot of the rules. The dice transition is interesting and different to me and I would like to have more time to… Read more »
Looks like a nice solid set of rules. Great to see a game played out. Bought the stater box for my brother last Christmas and I’m fairly certain he was going to be getting the terminators on the painting table next, might be time for a game soon. I can see some great narrative games coming in the near future, or past ;).
Don’t think I’ve ever had a grenade launcher hit a target in this game, and there’s @johnlyons popping off shots like he’s Arnie in the shootout scene in T2! I really like the mechanics in this game, they are a rather elegant blend of simplicity and detail that allow this game to be very thematic yet easy to play. You are going to take casualties as the humans in this game, and it can sometimes turn into a meat-grinder. Trying to take down an endoskeleton feels like an impossible task sometimes, as it should, and it really makes you think… Read more »
Made me order The game The starter Set is 30£, so I couldn’t resist.
Where did you get the trucks and the van they look nice and in scale.
check out your local toy shops. We found sets of die-cast cars seem to fit best with the scale. Then it/s simply a matter of beating them up, rusting and dusting them 🙂
I guess this game might be on the way out. Minimarket, The Warstore, and Warlord games are all dumping it for around $35 or less. I ordered a starter box from Warlord with free shipping over Christmas and none of the bigger, cooler machines are in stock anymore. It’s just starter boxes, tech-com boxes, endoskeleton boxes, and a smaller metal ‘elite’ endoskeleton set left.
The starter box can certainly be picked up at a great price from Warlord right now. I wouldn’t write it off just yet, maybe there’s a new starter box just around the corner…
There was certainly plenty to come when I spoke to Alessio at UKGE 2016.
Hi, Ho.
Seen this, (Again).
Looks Good…
So
Now waiting for it to come… Had to get it.
Another Shiny….
