New Great Wargaming Survey 2016 Coming July 19th!
July 14, 2016 by brennon
Karwansary Publishing and Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy are going to be launching the Great Wargaming Survey 2016 on July 19th.
The new survey is going to be largely comparable to those from 2014 and 2015 but some sections have been rotated in and out to get more interesting questions into the mix.
You will also be entered into a prize draw for taking part in the Survey and there's also another way they're going to say thank you - but more on that closer to the date.
If you want to delve into the details from previous years you can find a whole bunch of links right HERE.
Will you be taking part?

I always thought this was an interesting idea, but reading over the poll numbers, I can’t help but think that the readership filling out the polls is super skewed.
According to past years, historical gaming is far and away the largest section of the market- with WW2 gaming easily overtaking all of fantasy and science fiction. I think they’ve listed Bolt Action as the most popular miniatures game for a few years.
This would hold true with what I have experienced at my local club. A few years back 40K and Fantasy were the most popular games, now the single most popular is Bolt Action. closely followed by Fantasy and Frostgrave. 40K although still popular as a special apocalypse event day usually only sees one table on a club night.
Huh. That’s interesting.
What I’ve seen is mostly games like Warmachine, Malifaux and Infinity making clear headway (and AoS since they announced point values).
I’ve heard of people playing Bolt Action, but the only historical to have any footing locally is Flames of War, and it remains smaller (most of the game stores still don’t stock it).
For what its worth it’s the same at my local club. Bolt Action is by far the biggest game, and it pretty much always has a league going on, when one finishes another starts pretty much the next week. It’s the one game you a guaranteed a game week in week out, I don’t play 40k at my local club but form what I’ve seen it has pretty much died for now. I’ve noticed it is a really struggle to get a game in. I mean recently on our club facebook the 40k players were all having a discussion on how… Read more »
