Get Groovy With The Evil Dead 2 Board Game On Kickstarter
July 7, 2016 by brennon
Space Goat Productions are now on Kickstarter looking for funding for their Evil Dead 2: The Official Board Game project. This is a two to six player survival game based on the cult classic film...
Above you can see the Standard Edition of the game and its contents. The basic premise of the game is that you'll be trying to gather pages of the Ex-Mortis while avoiding demon attacks, crazy events and hopefully turning into a deadite yourself.
The game itself will feature artwork from the comic books that Space Goat have been publishing over the last few years which is neat. It will also come with miniatures representing the heroes and more besides.
At present there are no rules or gameplay to take a look at but they are hoping to reveal those as the campaign continues to roll on. I think that while plenty of people have pledged already they will want to wait for gameplay before they make up their mind completely.
Hopefully the gameplay mechanics are fun to play and they mix in well with the essence of 'Evil Dead' to produce a game worth snapping up.
Will you be watching this one?

I loaded the page at the very moment it started this moment and the early bird packages were snapped up by the time the page loaded… But it still got my money since I’m a huge Evil Dead fan.
The quality of the renders and photos doesn’t inspire confidence.
Renders are a bit lacking and the kickstarter seems a bit lackluster. If the creators seemingly can’t be arsed with it then why should the backers..?
“Images awaiting licensor approval” does not fill me with confidence. Sounds dangerously close to the Prodos AvP kickstarter. The renders don’t look anything close to their film counterparts and why can’t they use the name “Necronomicon”?
This Kickstarter could end up a real disaster for backers.
