Darrell takes a look at the cool Dwarf Berserkers Regiment from the guys at Avatars of War.
He definately has his favourite... can you guess which one it is?
These seem fantasticly done no flashing problems nothing just a great kit.
Is it just me or is GW missing out; cause it seems like people are making a killing in proxing stuff and so on if they had offical models and an interest in tournaments it would most proberly make them a boat load of money if they did up all the proxies.
Are these guys used in GW dwarves is there a besker/slayer unit?
Thats a cheeky little monkey at the end. I take it thats Darrell’s pick of the litter.
Fantastic sprues, fantastic prices, fantastic models…just…dwarvin’ fantastic lol.
I wonder what they would think at Golden Demon if you made up a Gotrek Gurnisson from this set lol
Best. Dwarf. Slayers. Ever. Made. The waist join is flat where ideally it could be a ball-and-socket affair like with Spess Mahreens to have the figs lunging forward or leaning back, but that’s hard to do without leaving an ugly gap. At about £1 each these are the best value for this quality you’ll currently see, and that means something potentially horrible – when GW makes plastic Slayers they will be priced like their other elites (£2.50 each) and they won’t be much better than this. I believe in the future a ban on all Avatars of War products will… Read more »
Those are very nice looking dwarves.
Darrell ya numpty you got the musician wrong. When you first look at the ‘command’ sprue you will see the horn next to a strange spike. That spike glues onto the horn to give it 2 fangs – as per the cover art on the box. From that picture I think you can even add a beard to it! I got the pre order special edition, which I think is what you have there. Anyone know what, if any, difference there is between this and the normal edition? This is a fine fine set of figures. Most plastic model sets… Read more »
Great looking models, sensible prices , cant go wrong in my view.
I got my pre order special and I’ve kept in in the wrapping. I’ve never kept any models in that state, before these dwarves. I’m sure I’ll open them once I’ve painted up the huge piles of other minis.
My army has no Slayzerkers in it yet, so this video just made my day! I’ll be picking up to boxes. Cheers, mates! Well done! 😀
Best slayers in the world, i have al the dwarfs from AOW and there the best models you can get if you play DWARFS.
i am real glad that felix (aow) left GW and is making his own models for normal prizes, Fantastic sprues, fantastic prices, fantastic models…just…dwarvin’ fantastic fun.
i got these there really great go really well with my mantic dwarfs
the only thing is that with the movement tray is that its to small 5 man dont go side by side, its a shame!
Hope this is a trend! Would love for Avatars of War to venture into doing more than heroes as they have done here. Amazing concept, and one gamers have been wanting for such a long time (therefore, all of the modding) that every single soldier be unique. Keep up the good work Avatars!
Thanks for the look at these Dawrfs. I’ve been wanting to see them for a while now. AOW is now available in North america through CoolMini….I dotn collect dwarfs, but i’ll probably be picking up some of their champ models for other races
I think Darrell would have fun using the boys to proxy for blood claws.
Really loving these guys, had to watch the video again for a closer look at those sprues. Can’t wait to use these guys for some of the Duergar in D&D and one for my new Dwarf Barbarian 😀
“your standard slayer…”
Well that’s another lawsuit right there!
More seriously though I have a set of these and they’re one of the finest unit sets I have ever seen.
Got a box of these sitting waiting on me. Bought them through the BOW deal which by the way was excellent. (Just dont tell the missus).
Gonna use them to make my original dwarf slayers up too 20 and make another 20 man unit. (both utilising unit fillers) for two regiments for the Kings of war game.
THe options, no. of models and the sculpts just cant be faulted. Wld love to see them produce a few more box sets of this quality.
I pick up a set, because they we MUCH cheaper than buying Mantic’s metal Dwarf crazies in metal………
I picked up a set for my KoW Dwarf army. They are much cheaper than the Mantic metal dwarves.
Go figure, I am buying proxies for my proxies!!
Bloody amazing !
Too bad Darrel flooded them with glue and didn’t clean the pieces up properly…
BoW Romain
lol I did notice the wisps of glue-like cobweb about the back of the minis. Awesome minis though.
Another thing is that, considering these come in at around £1 a model, can be posed and customised and everything in between they totally blow the £3 a model GW ones. I love their sculpts, but I just know that they are going to be so expensive when they get finecast…or plastic’d.
Think AoW have stolen my beardy heart lol. Might have to get some of their dwarf heroes too.
Wow!…Just Wow!! Despite Scibor Miniature’s stunning dwarfs, these are just amazing and proberly the best box set deal ever!
I bought 2 boxes of these guys, i dont know now how they come in the package, at the beginning you get extra stuff, anyway great great box and I hope to see more of things like that from AOW
I got 1 box from our good friends at Wayland Games, and I was blown away by the amazing detail of these muscle bound little crazies. I plan to use them as Kings of War: Dwarf Berserkers. I believe this regiment will go nicely with my sons Iron Clad and Iron Watch units. Again this box is very fun and well done. I agree with other posts this is a great value. The folks at Avatars of War are outrageously good producer of eye popping minis. Hey would anyone want to chip in and get Darrell some cutters so he… Read more »
really good kit and a pleasure to assemble and paint. I didn’t get a movement tray? still best kit I’ve done in ages.
