Darrell has been busy down in the Cheese Mine again and this time he has unearthed a tasty little nugget that allows his weak units to mess with his opponent's transport.

Hey guy, where did you get those mini shipping containers from????
there from AT-43 we took and sprayed them black, dry brunched boltgun metal over the top added some bright orange to the corners then washed the whole thing in gryphone sepia wash.

It seems AT-43 have went out of business but this link suggests alternative sites: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5238886
they look like the shipping creats from AT-43.
I saw that you rolled a 6 and a 5 so because there were no weapons on it , it would immobilise it again for a vehicle destroyed, the people could not disembark so be killed instantly. Also, if it was immobilised and did have a storm bolter that got destroyed so you only need a glance of a 5 to destroy it next turn, can you in your following turn use your movement phase to run back and inch or two then re-charge for the str4 ? If a tank can just drive away, can’t you ?
Only problem I see with this is the passengers dishing out some flamer goodness from a firing port or two (from the rhino if only immobilised) but no I’ve had this done to me once by a horde of Orks.
I have used this quite often with my orks, but I make it even worse for my opponent, I surrounded his landraider full of thunderhammer storm shield termies that had a chaplain and Calgar with them, well I surrounded them with my nob bikers that had a warboss with them and he wanted to say I wasnt playing like an ork because I surrounded him instead of taking him on head on, nope I just took his vehicle apart bit by bit and he was afraid to let any of my bikers get a death or glory attack
The hills on that gaming table look amazing, are those home made? If so, give us a tutorial?! If not, where can we buy them? 🙂
They made the board and hills. They have a video of how to make it. Grant it after the youtube issue they had, they might not have it up yet again. Look for it in the Build Guides I think.
That’s a nice tactic, might use that.
The only problem is the firing points you can get at least two marines shooting from the top hatch presumably a flamer missile laucher perhaps toasted gaunts
I used to use this tactic a lot with my dark eldar. hide a hit squad of 4 reavers behind terrain and do nothing with them at the start. then see where a juicy transport was going, position a ravager properly then snare the trap… reavers turbo boost around the vehicle (if lucky they would be within 12″ so they could shoot too) then move out the ravager and pop the transport. occupants couldn’t get out so killed. considering how bad my dice rolls normall are, this tactic worked more often than not… really weird!!!
i used this with my grey knights, ok it was a 10 man interceptor squad but it stopped ghazghull and those mega nobz from getting out the trukk.
Go ahead, surround my landraider redeemer…betcha one machine spirited flamestorm could open up enough space to disembark
Again, very helpfull for new players.
BUT, one important thing is wrong. You can always perform an emergency disembarkation and not only, when your vehicle is destroyed! Check page 67 of the RB.
This rule is horrid. my mate used to do this to me with marine bikers. the problem with the emergency disembark is the 1″ rule comes into play, especially with bike base surrounding a rhino. It’s usually unit destroyed.
