May 27, 2016 by brennon
The team at Fatshark have another challenge for those of you who have played through Vermintide. The new DLC, Drachenfels, takes you to the haunted castle of the Vampire Counts where you must face off against the Skaven once again and foil their plots.
You can see the teaser trailer for the new DLC above which offers...
- Three New Levels - Castle Drachenfels, The Dungeons, Summoners Peak
- New Feature - Torches
- New Feature - Traps
- New Weapons - Glaive (Waywatcher) Volley Crossbow (Witch Hunter)
I've really enjoyed playing Vermintide and getting stuck into the levels. I still need to get more awesome weapons though! If anyone wants to play the game with me by the way shoot me a personal message and we'll see about getting a level or two in.
Will you be trying out Drachenfels?

I wasn’t all that interested in vermintide before but I loved the Drachenfels novel(s?) way way back and this tempts me now!
If it’s a ‘haunted castle of the Vampire Counts’ then the setting has changed since the novel and WFRP settings. In those it was the home of Constant Drachenfels, a malignant sorcerer who has memories of the old slann.
Certainly good looking..
I’m not quite getting tho why they keep releasing Warhammer video games.
Surely not particularly helpful to promote AoS? Or is it to pacify the Oldhammer community?
I feel a sad misuse of a classic part of Warhammer lore being perpetrated. Such a great setting, had some of my most fun and challenging role-play sessions set there.
looking good.
That Drachenfels was a real no-goodnik. I always wondered how far into the lore he should be accepted, even from an Oldhammer perspective. His personal backstory is rather different.
Very much a 3rd edition character, added late on, definitely part of the background
