New Power Rangers Movie Means New Suits!
May 6, 2016 by brennon
While this might seem like strange news it is quite key for those of us who grew up watching The Power Rangers on a weekend. The new movie is happening and that means a new look - here we have the suits!
Entertainment Weekly got a look at the new suits which step away from the spandex. They are extraterrestrial translucent suits which morph and crystallise around their bodies. It's certainly a neat step in the right direction and they've kept the classic helmets as you can see above.
Are there any Power Ranger fans out there?
Let me know what you think below...

I am.
…can’t say I like it.
I like more armor but the esthetic here is very meh.
Seen better armored Power Ranger fanart. WAAAAY better.
Actually looking forward to this, grew up watching power Rangers and what I’m seeing gives me hope!
The original Kimberly woz well hot, not sure the original cheesyness will bring new fans, so it will be interesting to see what direction they will take with the reboot!
This might be good. Love it as a kid, hated it as a teen and afterward and never got back into it, but this could be good if it isn’t too kiddy. Sutis are like a cross between the previous ones, RDJ’s iron man suit from the mcu movies and vaguely look battle of the planetesque in their helmets.
The power rangers mini movie some guy did a while back was pretty good.
Also little known fact, doing the voices of the monsters in this show was where Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad pretty much started his career.
Definitely good news, grew up watching the original series and it is good to see it being rebooted.
I don’t mind new outfits looking very much like MCU Iron Man suit but I find boob plates and high heels that they gave Pink Ranger and Yellow Ranger silly and unpractical.
‘Power Rangers Wrestling Federation’, why is this not a thing?
Hm. Super powered wrestlers? Could be fun.
The babyfaces in Power Rangers costumes, the heels in monster masks, all audio done as voice overs, matches worked in the Power Rangers fighting style. It’d be gold dust lol.
I hope people know that the original Japanese show had asians play the roles of the heroes, and the fighting sequences in the english version was directly from that Japanese show. Also the yellow ranger was a man in the Japanese version.
I take it buy the picture having the yellow ranger be a lady this is a north american project, not a japan project.
Correct.
All ‘Power Rangers’ tv and movies are North American products. Power Rangers is a localised version of Super Sentai, but Super Sentai is not Power Rangers.
