Fight By The Side Of Anglo-Saxons With V&V Miniatures
April 18, 2016 by brennon
V&V Miniatures have now crossed the waters of the North Sea and they're producing Anglo-Saxon miniatures. Their first set is a range of 28mm Huscarls in chainmail with a range of different weapons...
The set of four starts with the chap holding the massive dane axe that would be able to smash apart shields and crack an opening in a line of hardy soldiers.
As well as that we have two Saxons with sword and shield. As you may know it was considered rather upper class to have a sword in your possession and the bodyguard of the local Lord would certainly have been privilege to these kind of weapons.
The models have been posed in such a way as to look as if they are in the press of combat. I could imagine them posed standing side by side in a shieldwall. All of them have very grim expressions on their faces and impressive moustaches.
Last but not least we have another Saxon carrying a spear.
This chap looks like he could be one of the younger of the lot if you were attempting to weave a narrative around this lot. I'd really like to see these soldiers incorporated into one of the bigger bases you get in SAGA.
You could create quite the diorama with these warriors standing around their Warlord with dead Vikings at their feet.
What do you think of these resin miniatures?

There nice models but a little on the expensive side
Pretty nice. Well proportioned and clean. 4 for £10… hmm. And resin? I can see a lot of broken axes and spears. Has anyone used their vikings? Robust enough?
check out youtube, vonketteringham did a review and painted them up recently
I’ve only seen good reviews so far and they look stunning painted
Those are very nice.
