First Doctor Strange Trailer Hits The Internet

The first trailer for Doctor Strange has arrived on the internet starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Vincent Strange. If you like mind bending, reality warping films then this might tickle your fancy.
Doctor Strange really is a fascinating character who serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, defending the Earth against all threats from the magical and mystical planes of existence.
Strange was briefly mentioned during Captain America: The Winter Soldier and I have to say I think Cumberbatch is a great choice to play the role. Let's hope the script and story holds up.
What did you think of the trailer?
Well that looks awfully good.
That looks great. I thought they weren’t going to do origin stories. That is very much the origin of Dr Strange. I’m not against an origin story especially when done well. This looks like it will be done very well.
It looks different than the usual CGI pokemon fight that Marvel gives us these days, and for that alone it’s interesting… It’s also one of my favorite stories ! I think it’s good that they do Dr Strange’s origin story, as this particular character’s adventures never are quite as good later on as his “magical initiation quest”. At least I think so. By the Eye of Agamotto and the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth, let the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak (and the red tape of the MCU prodcers eager to connect everything to the infamous blob of the Infinity Stones) stay… Read more »
Looks like another cool one, will have to check it out 🙂
I enjoyed the heck out of that one.
Looks promising.
I’m really not sure about it. I know little of the character and think its an odd look. The trailer reminded me of Inception quite a bit, dunno if that is a good thing here.
Normally I’d say “Inception-like” isn’t that good… but knowing the character, that “other realities” thing may be an interesting take, and even something good for the rest of the MCU. Dr Strange’s paradigm is very much about there being more to reality than meets the eye (hence the name “occult”, after all).
Hah, he has the same paradigm as the Transformers then 😉
Finally ! Wow! Setting up for the infinity gauntlet!
I kinda feel like everything since Thor (the first one) has been setting up for the Infinity Gauntlet. 😉
I am looking forward to this, one of the few upcoming movies that pique my interest. There is so much wasted effort in Hollywood and other places of entertainment now. Back to baseball!
That looks promising enough.
I have to laugh at the insane amount of reaction videos that are posted each time a new trailer comes out.
looks good not a character I know to be honest.
Like the look of this. Matrix meets inception with added cumberbatch…
It’s about time we got a character from the MCU that isn’t a wise guy. Having almost every hero be like Robert Downey Jr.’s take on Tony Stark does wear me thin a bit. Glad to see they make him rational, skeptic and have personal demons.
The only thing I find odd is the choice they went with for his instructor. The instructor look like a Buddhist monk, yet they go with a woman and white not asian. Not to say that white people can’t be Buddhist’s or women can’t be monks, just seems like an odd pairing for the role.
The Ancient One is so old that all colour has been bleached out of her…
Dr Strange is one of my all time favourite comic book characters, ever since I first stumbled over him while watching the 90s Spider-Man cartoon. Cannot wait for this.
No capes darling!
What can only be described as Hollywood’s pure hatred for asians (1 in 25 Americas are Asians btw, in the american sense i.e oriental etc) has reached a point where they’d rather GENDER BEND a Marvel character into a woman than cast a male asian (albeit in a racial sterotype, but still).
Looks good but I hope it’s more mature than the usual Marvel pew pew stuff. Let’s have something called character development and something called a “theme”. Marvel might want to try and explain the motivation of the villain too instead of “just because”.
I’m not sure if it is hatred for Asians.
I think it’s more like they’re too lazy (and too scared) to think out-of-the-box when it comes to looking for anyone who isn’t well known already.
I suspect the only reason Cumberbatch is in is because the role of Sherlock put him on the top of their ‘famous actor list who isn’t too expensive yet’ casting list.
