Blood & Plunder Tablewar/Frontline Gaming Partnership & Kickstarter Exclusive Captain Morgan
April 13, 2016 by brennon
Firelock Games have announced that they're going to be partnering up with TABLEWAR and Frontline Gaming to create a range of different free floating island terrain mats for use in their Historical pirate game, Blood & Plunder...
Update: The exclusive mats are now going to be available to backers from the EU, Canada, Australia and New Zealand!
Will you be taking up cutlass and flintlock to fight out on these mats? Watch out for the Kickstarter launch on April 19th!
Modular Seascapes
The island and the ocean mats that you also get from the Kickstarter allow you to assemble your tabletop in a myriad of different ways giving you more options each time you play.
You can see how the mats look with their Blood & Plunder ships atop them - a great backdrop for your battles on the high seas.
These mats will be available as Kickstarter rewards at certain levels during the campaign and then only available through Firelock Games after that.
It is also important to note that the terrain will be available to those in the EU, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and is available as an optional purchase included in its own tier during the campaign but they are working to make them available to the rest of the world after the campaign has finished.
Kickstarter Exclusive Captain Morgan
Backers of the Kickstarter for Blood & Plunder at a certain level will also be able to get their hands on this dashing version of Captain Henry Morgan.
This is an exclusive alternative pose for the Captain which will be available after the fact only on special occasions at events and conventions. Through stretch goals they also hope to unlock more free alternative sculpts for backers too.
I think you should have a rather large barrel of rum on hand to drink with this chap around. I'm sure it would make you play a whole lot better.
Will you be checking out this Kickstarter when it launches?

Yes please – looks like this month is “Pirate April” on KS together with Rum & Bones!
I am so hyped for this game! Been looking forward to it since it was announced.
So glad to see maps, think they missed a trick in not having them be able to join up. But I may not have seen them all so I will hold judgment. None the less, I am going to jump in on this and then build my scurvy seadogs whilst binge watching black sails
My mistake, the islands are free standing
Yup – the ocean mat is for those open sea battles whilst the islands can be rearranged upon the maps to give you a variety of different set-ups 🙂
A few palm trees, some buried treasure and more – Bob’s your uncle!
The islands are free standing and the two large pieces are sized so that you can connect them to create one large island.
Count me in on this one, I’ve been following this project for a while now. Those mats will certainly bring to life the excellent looking miniatures and boats. Roll on next week when the kickstarter goes live.
I was in before the mat but now I plan marriage
What’s not to like about any part of this KS?!
I’ll be more excited by this news when it’s made available to Canadians.
It a logistical issue, we can not commit to shipping it worldwide at this time because of the weight of the item might not be cost effective and we need to set up distribution the proper way . I hope this clears it up. 🙂 You will have the same exact ability to purchase it as you would in kickstarter campaign just not right away.
please … don’t start this kickstarter.
It looks too good and if there’s Dutch crews in there I’d be too tempted to back it.
My wallet hates you already. 😉
We have Dutch characters that can lead the buccaneers, right now. We will have entire Dutch factions coming soon!
cool 🙂
Any names ?
Are we getting Piet Heyn ?
I’m probably going to back this, the miniatures look fantastic.
I´m very much interested in this game, but I don´t like one bit the fact that I won´t be able to get part of the stuff for the different tiers of the KS just because I live in continental Europe.
I really think that this company needs to think hard how to ship their product because is not nice at all for the consumers to feel discriminated from day 0.
We apologize to everyone who feels this way about our inability to ship the Mats outside of the US and UK currently. After our Kickstarter, we have plans to sell the Mats while honoring our kickstater prices worldwide, we are working very hard to make this possible. During our Kickstarter, we have seperated the tiers so that our backers outside of the US and UK will be able to take full advantage of our rewards.
That eases my concerns. Thanks for the quick answer. But please, in the future try to state it that way ahead, so everyone that reads the articles about your game gets the right impresion. Best of lucks for the new game. I’m already looking forward to it.
UPDATE ***** GREAT NEWS ! We will now be offering the F.A.T. MAT + Islands set to the U.S. , EU , Canada , Australia , New Zealand !
Shame I’m not working at the moment, I live a few miles from Captain Morgan’s harbour now! The reefs here made it an ideal hiding spot for pirates who didn’t want to be disturbed.
the ships look great.
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr fancy loot for da Pirates and Swashbucklers!
Iam not from the Uk, but hopefully i will get thos mats after the KS soon. Can’t wait any longer to pledge this awesome Game! 😀
Thing`s just keep getting better, roll on the 19th…………………………..
Loving the Captain Henry Morgan figure and pose, and as we both have one thing in common i`m hoping to get him. The thing in common is His last name, same as mine. So it`s only fitting i get him.
I’m quite excited about this. Will we get to see some game play during the kickstarter campaign?I’d like to see how the game plays
Yes, yes I will. How can u not, did you see the ships!
It’s a pirates life for me, better start practising our rough sailor talk for the tabletop! Will have to resort to some DIY sea boards though here in NZ, better start stockpiling resin too 😀
I’m counting down the days for this one.
I know the shipping will hurt being in Oz, but those ships will be worth it
Anyone else think the Captain Morgan model looks like Ron Pearlman in a pirate outfit?
Not that i think that is bad or anything 😉
I wonder how long it will be before we start seeing conversions of characters like Captain Flint popping up, taking into account the popularity of the Black Sails TV show?
Or Edward Kenway from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag.
One more day, then comes the Hurdy Gurdy man. 🙂
