Megacon’s MERCS: Recon Rules Get Updated
April 6, 2016 by brennon
The folks at Megacon Games last month put together an updated package of rules for those of you who have got your hands on MERCS: Recon. This goes for both Counter Threat and Assassination Protocol which gave you different factions fighting it out through various missions.
The game itself is a fully co-operative game where you play as a team against the built in 'A.I' of the game. You'll be fighting your way through offices, taking down security guards, interrogating hapless NPCs and more. If you want to wrap your brain around the gameplay you can check out the first of a two part gameplay video above.
Updates
If you want to get your hands on the current batch of rules you can snap them up via their Download Section with a specific look at both the Updated Rules and the FAQ HERE.
Of course don't forget to head over to their forums too if you're search of an answer to a question.

I look at my flaky boards and my low definition minis (that were meant to be TT standard) and I despair and play something else…
so all of their games have needed rules re-writes immediately after KS delivery…? not regretting passing on all their KSs
It’s been a nightmare of a KS , and we are waiting for 2nd wave to arrive and wonder what crap we are going to get. Most of us backers are really pissed off.
Couldn’t this be caught upfront< like most of the production they did for it, even the boxes are bad.
I was really unimpressed with mine. Cover on the box was falling off. Cardboard tiles and tokens were badly printed and cut. And the minis are awful. Had better detail on green army men from a pound shop
A small company trying to get bigger making some elemental business errors. The biggest one is out-sourcing a key part of their ‘value chain’ – i.e. mini production and printing – without putting in place robust supplier management, quality assurance and quality control.
I opened a draw to find a stack of cards in there – a quick look reminded me these were the out-dated cards from the original Myth – and then the patch (300+ cards in total?)..
Yep – I gave Banner Saga a miss…
I’ve been satisfied with my copies from the Kickstarter. A couple scuffed components, but cardboard is still in good shape and nothing mis-aligned. Minis went together well after some cleanup and paint up very nice. Most of all, the gameplay is excellent with just a little dose of common sense. Without KS, this game would never had been made and Mercs 2.0 and the expansion of their whole range would have come in trickles. Mistakes were made, true.
So far I’ve had no complaints for my wave 1. the boards were all good the no miss cuts or colour problems, and no issues with the minis………. maybe I got lucky and got a set that was QC’d!
Worst experience of a kickstarter, still waiting for wave 2 , game components are no good and a complete waste of time and money. A word of warning don’t back these guys for any future KS you will end up as pissed of as us recon backers.
So, everyone who got wave 2 now…. What do you think?
